Yale University Early Action for Fall 2023 Admission

@Parent-in-Georgia I’m not trying to get your hopes up… but EVERYONE this year and last year, as well as in previous years … got an SID and were accepted.

I went a little crazy last application round and went through old Reddit Yale megathreads. Any mention of an SID were followed by an acceptance. (And this is with a sample of around ~15 people?)

And yes, it is early but I’m sure they had time to view your daughter’s application in REA round. It’s unlikely they’re handing her a full review in the RD round. Just my personal opinion though.

And to those wondering about the household form: I received that too and it also disappeared. I don’t think it means anything.

Would applicants who didn’t apply for financial aid still get a SID number from the FA office? I’d assume not right?

seems kind of unlikely decisions are made 2 months in advance?

The plural of anecdote is not data and correlation does not imply causation.

There is no portal astrology 2 months before the release date.

hello! When you submit an update in the yale applicant portal does the confirmation email usually list the uploaded document if one was included in the update. I submitted a letter of continued interest a couple of weeks ago and was just looking at the confirmation email and noticed there was no mention of an uploaded document. It just listed the type of update and description. I am pretty confident that I included the document in my update but I wanted to check and see if everyone else’s confirmation emails did not mention an uploaded document.

What is a “Household Verification Form”? I don’t see that on the FA items list.

It appeared randomly on 1/27 and disappeared a few days later. Unless you happened to log in to look at the FA checklist in those few days, you wouldn’t have known it was there. Just speculating that it was an error that it was added.

I don’t think the “SID Theory” has any merit. My son never received one, and was accepted EA. Sit back and relax and think of other things is my advice.

Congratulations!
Yes, now I remember that your son played a musical instrument at the national level. That’s awesome. Best wishes

Same thing. I had the household verification form appear on 1/27. I filled it out and uploaded it and then it just disappeared.

I applied RD- I was kind of nervous about this application. Does anyone have any advice on anything I can do in the mean time? Should I contact my admissions counselor again??

Yes. Relax, find something else to keep you occupied. And keep your grades up.

Do you have a significant update since after you applied?

If an applicant has a significant update, and they have added to their portal, should they follow up with their admissions officer?

My son has this on his portal as well but there is nothing to click or link to any form… also, he’s already received his financial aid offer so we’re not sure what it means. In any case have a msg out to FA to clarify. It is still a line item as of today (says it was posted 1/27 as well).

I also have that form (I was deferred REA), but it was posted since 2/9. Based on some quick searching, I found that this document is on Yale’s website: Verification Statement of Household Information | Financial Aid.

I do have updates (I’ve been working on a personal project) since applying, so I just emailed my admissions counselor. Thank you so much for the advice

Is there a place on Yale’s website where you can find regional admissions counselor info?
