Yes, I know Stanford has done a TON of interviews for REA applicants; same with Harvard.
Thanks. Makes sense that FA will ask for all the paper work ahead of time and just have it ready to go if they get an OK from the AO for an admitted student.
Thanks. Yeah I think as well after reading many other posts from previous years that the financial tea leaves theory isnāt true. Same here no interview request so far and my child submitted mid September. Agree, no big deal either way.
hey i applied rea and i didnt do my css until now, i might be able to submit to submit this week (hard bc i am doing it on my own) am i screwed
they didnt send me anything following up on the info either
Nvm they sent me an email telling me to submit fin aid
had my interview! 2.5 hrs long
interesting to note he told me i was one of the only two interviews hes doing in my area (and the other one is my friend who is a 3x legacy) so either we are both f**ked or getting in
you the icon who made their interviewer cry?
Which area?
Their profile says New England.
They could also have other interviewers in the area, and they each only do a few.
2.5 hours! Goodness
def would not call myself an icon
specific numbers I was told was that he does 8-14 per year but this year eaās only have two (me and my friend). I know for a fact two of my friends (1 domestic rea defer ā accept and 1 intl rd waitlist) both had him, but a few others who were yale accepts Iām not sure about. I think one of my other friends didnāt have him though and didnāt get in.
I also heard from the legacy friendās mom (who also does interviews?) that the interviewer was the head for my region (probably an ASC v. ASC member according to Yaleās alum interview pamphlet) but Iām def not sure. Iāll update though and I think there should be a chance me from months ago thatās not accurate to what I do but you can also PM me for more info.
It was fun! I talked to him a lot about enviro policy and food studies and things Iāve been involved in, but also CAC and DAC policies. and then a lot about my background which I didnāt have the chance to in my application. And then he asked me more things about how Iāve been immersed in Yale etc. and I got to talk about that too which was really helpful. He was from a very diff background (legacy kid who went to andover) but he still was super aware of his privilege etc.
I also knew it would be 2-3 hours long because two of my friends both had him for interviews last year and I prepared myself to talk for longer but itās def not the norm (iirc he told me ASC members are only supposed to talk for 45-60 min MAX)
wait I lied I found the training guide for this applicatio. cycle. the number for ASCs and interviews are both lower
No interview yet and not surprised. Application is very consistent, perhaps to a flaw. Donāt think they are likely to fit into the āneed more informationā category with limited resources.
206 is the number of regions. There is a regional alumni coordinator for each region, but reports are sent directly to the AO. I suspect some alumni interviewers may have better credibility with the AOās. They probably also have a sense of who are the easy vs hard graders. I would not read tea leaves here.
Hello all, parent to my S24 who applied EA to Yale. Interestingly, itās not his first choice but wanted to submit one early. First time going through this as a parent, itās a bag of emotions. Good luck to all the seniors!
My son didnāt get one either yet and Iād say his app doesnāt leave much to āneed more infoā either. Hang in there!
