Yale v Stanford

From early on in my college search Yale was my #1 choice. Ultimately I was waitlisted at Yale and accepted at Stanford (where I will most likely deposit by May 1).
My question now is, would Yale truly be better for me than Stanford? I've accepted my spot on the waitlist but I certainly don't want to be hogging a spot.

I am a proposed Biology/Chemistry major, though I have no idea what I want to do later on. Furthermore, I'm also very interested in public policy, intl relations, etc. and could completely see myself down that kind of career path. Ideally I would hope to combine those two interests (separate question: any jobs that do that?!).

I've never visited Stanford, and only visited Yale during my Junior Year (so didn't truly get a college experience I would've at bulldog days).

Anyway, would someone help in enumerating pro's and con's for me? I'm not so concerned about the social atmosphere or the weather, more the academic climate, especially for my interests.

Thanks! Y'all are the best :)

I wouldn’t worry about it. Number one, the chances of being accepted are slim and with probably close to 1000 other applicants on the list, they can easily move one to the next applicant of you don’t want the spot.

Although I’m a big booster of Yale, in your situation I would forget about Yale and turn fully to Stanford. They are both fantastic schools–and one of them accepted you.

Combining public policy and health is not uncommon. A masters in public health deals with this, and working for places such as the NIH covers this as well, I believe.

Forgot to add CDC ( Centers for Disease Control) and WHO

Thanks a lot @Hunt. I visited Stanford this weekend and it’s fantastic.
Thank you also @YoHoYoHo, those are great suggestions–definitely something I will look further into eventually.
