Yale Vs. Stanford SCEA

Hey guys,

Well, with common app up, I am debating whether to apply to Yale or Stanford SCEA. If you could read my info below and toss me some advice, I'd REALLY appreciate it.

I want to major in biology with premed focus

I am a devote Christian and want both atheists and christians in the classroom

I am a Republican who is moderate to conservative on social and fiscal things (which one is more right leaning?)

I am from Nebraska and am used to harsh winters...but warmth would be nice

I am not a "prestige-whore" however I want to brag to all the relatives that I hate that I am going to X college

I dont really care that Stanford will reject me whereas Yale will prby defer me

Hott girlz are nvr a bad thing

Which school has a higher EA acceptance rate?

Stanford does have the Hoover Institute.

Apply to whichever you like best. Honestly, both are pretty liberal so the political thing won’t be that much different on the two campuses, although Stanford students may be slightly more apathetic (versus hostile to you).

What major do you want? East Coast or West Coast? Relaxed environment or busy environment?

Ya…obviously most colleges nowadays are fairly liberal…which is fine as long as diversity is present = D. I am indifferent to which coast but like I said warm weath is nice. I want to major in biology and go premed and I like a balance between relaxation and “buisniess.” However, I would classify myself as a “partial calvanist” because I at least like to always have something that I could be working on.

Admit for Yale SCEA this year was 13.4%, I believe.

It sounds like Stanford would be a good fit – they have HumBio and Biology (both very strong, and very good for pre-med). Also, the work-play balance there sounds like it’s your thing.

I assume you can’t visit either campus?

You really ought to visit both campuses if possible, or at least one of them. They are so different that I imagine most students would immediately react to which one fits them best.

^so basically, it’s negligible.

Which school as a higher quality of live. I mean obviously the weather is better at Stanford, but which has nice dorms and that kind of stuff.

i think you’ll need to visit to figure that out. a lot of people fall in love with both schools, but personally, i was extremely turned off by yale and went gaagaa over stanford.

when you are choosing between hypsm, you’re splitting hairs. it’s all about the subjective, intangible gooey feelings lol
