Yale Waitlists 2017

“Correction: Due to a reporting error, an earlier version of this article and its headline incorrectly stated that this year’s yield rate was higher than Yale’s. Yale has not yet released its yield rate for its Class of 2017. The ‘Prince’ regrets the error.”

Hmm where do you guys think they got the 65.2% from?

Damn… That’s annoying.

I got an email back from my regional admissions counsellor today after I sent in additional materials and he said they’d be making waitlist decisions soon.

i got off today!!!

^^ Congrats!! thats great news for you! Did you get a call? email? or what? Do tell the rest of us eager to know

Echoing @College112’s sentiments, how were you notified @alphabet?

Congrats!!

Congrats Alphabet! What time were you contacted?

i got a call from the regional officer!! best luck to all of you!!!

What sort of time did they call?! So jealous!

i think it was around 3–not sure of the exact time because it was SO unexpected

Congrats alphabet! Which state are you from?

65.2% was the yield for Yale class of 2015.

Connecticut!

Congrats alphabet!!!
Now lets hope the rest of us get a call as well!!!

Are there any other internationals on this thread? People from last year’s wait-listed class thread started getting off the list around this exact same time last year. If the admissions office is unable to contact us by phone, do you think they would send us an email instead?

Also, is it weird that quite a few people from last year’s thread got accepted off the wait-list, considering how small this College Confidential Yale Wait-Listed Thread community is?

I’m international  where are you from?

@AndyPandy I’m from the UK (as my rather uninventive username suggests). Where are you from?
I’m sure they’ll find any possible way of contacting us, if we’re lucky enough to be awarded a place.

^fellow UK here, well Northern Ireland. Where have you committed too at the minute?

I also noticed that a fair few from last year’s thread got admitted off the waitlist. Perhaps they’ve only just begun making decisions (and I doubt they’ll be calling on the weekend) so maybe we’ll have to wait until early next week.

As for internationals, I’m not one, but I’m sure they will email you if they can’t get ahold of you otherwise.

Hey britboy and peter1412, I’m studying in the UK - boarding school at Tonbridge, Kent - but I’m originally from Hong Kong. I’m the only person from my school who applied to Yale (and got waitlisted, I don’t know if this gives me an edge or not.

For internationals, and maybe for nationals even, do they judge you in the context of your school or your region?

Anyway, other internationals, please share what your current situation is, where you have committed to etc  I’ve already committed to Duke, which I absolutely LOVE! But, I think I’ll definitely take Yale if the spot comes up - better academics, fell in love + fulfills my Tiger Mum’s wishes (she’s the one paying for my exorbitant fees without financial aid).
Still, would be a pretty difficult choice to make between two such awesome schools. Everyone please share!!!
