YDN: 26,000 applicants

i'm just really hoping they strongly consider our letters and essays. i mean -- think about it -- say we were all albert einstein and had failed a few classes but were eventually gonna graduate.

we apply to yale. one teacher says i will become a genius. i don't do well on sats because i don't like them, w/e. but i'm literally a genius, yale would want me. can they find that diamond in the rough? can they see that needle in the haystack? can they see that flower amongst weeds (i just made this one up and it blew).

for real, that's what i'm hoping.

to hookem: def. waitlisting would be epic.

ChandlerBing-If it makes you feel any better, I bet many people admitted 10 years ago would have a hard time getting admitted today, with the ever increasing abundance of qualified applicants.

Daughter was waitlisted at both Harvard and Williams last year. And while it was a nice accomplishment and a feather in one's cap, it was difficult because the college admissions process lasted until second week of July. Not fun!
