Year of community college?

Next year I want to do a year of community college, full-time, before I go to a four year university as a sophomore. If I get accepted for fall 2018 main campus, could I ask admissions if they could let me have a year going to community college but still committed to PSU main campus, before I attend in fall 2019?

No, you cannot enter UP as a sophomore. No matter where you went your first year. Penn State does not take transfer students in their sophomore year. You either get in as a freshman or a junior.

What you CAN do, and what I’ve known other people to do, is transfer to a commonwealth campus for your sophomore year and then go to UP campus for your junior and senior years. UP is strictly freshmen and juniors UNLESS your major calls for you to go to UP early (my son is at a commonwealth campus…Altoona…but has to go to UP for his sophomore year because his major requires it) .

You will need to ask the school that question. Each school has different policies. Thoroughly check their website first, though.
