you should play it safe and apply to all. after all, there are only 44

Lol. Knew that was coming....

I've been busting my butt trying to cut my list down to around 10. I have no other option but to ask people about the schools' academic quality ...

So ... sorry :|

Ranking will be a pain in the backside ... Grading, anyone ?

You could use another 10-15 safety schools.

Oh come on !

harvey mudd

most of the schools on your list aren't especially known for computer science. and it seems like you don't care what school you go to so try to find what location you want. rural, suburban, urban?

that should shave a lot of schools off you rlist

I don't really care much about the location ...

harvey mudd is top notch in comp science i would imagine. im not gonna rank all 44 schools. sorry :(

Grade a few ?

do you care about school spirit? do you want a school with division 1 sports? do you want to be in the middle of nowhere or in the middle of a city, or somewhere in between? do you want to be down south, out west, in the midwest, or in the northeast? just some questions to think about.

sorry i dont know enough about liberal arts schools' computer science departments. i love the claremont schools, and i would imagine harvey mudd probably would have the best comp science department on the list of schools you have listed. im sure u of chicago and northwestern's departments arent shabby either (but they arent liberal arts schools).

What I care about:
1. Quality of Education
2. Grad school, job prospects(after undergrad)
3. Financial Aid

Don't care about school spirit/sports/location.

I hear that Wake Forest is quite good. I've also heard good things about Chicago, Rochester, and Harvey Mudd.

Sorry, but it may be a bit difficult to rank the rest. Although many LACs have good CS programs, there typically isn't a lot of talk about them. It might be a good idea to e-mail the department heads at some of the schools asking about internship opportunities, facilities, job statistics, etc.

Actually, if I go to an LAC, I might just end up doing an Economics-Computer Science double major .. so ...

If you're into economics and CS, I'd just apply early to Chicago. (assuming that you don't mind the culture there ;) )

Chicago's CS department is umm, different... like everything at Chicago. It's very theoretical, which is what most computer scientists don't particularly desire. Nevertheless, I've heard very good things from it.

Chicago has no aid for Intl students :(

Untrue. It's just more difficult to gain admission if you apply for financial aid.

Hmm. Thanks.
So U Chicago gets an "A". (But its also bloody difficult to get in)

What about the others?
