Yep

A lot of people really use this forum!

Not too many people know about this forum. I, for instance, had no idea that there was a forum for MSU.

letoutpuissant, I think smurfette's right, not many people interested in MSU know about this forum. I'm not really sure why, since so many people from other major U's seem to know about, and post on their boards more than MSU. Even places like Maryland post much more than us (maybe it's an East-coast/West-coast thing: Berkeley and UCLA are extremely popular, too). It also surprises me since UM's board's among the most popular -- you'd think the in-state UM people would talk to their friends. Who knows? It sure doesn't reflect the popularity of MSU which continues to get record numbers of applicants who are driving up admissions stats.

Stay tuned.

Check them out on myspace.I'm sure it has a lot of MSU people, but in no way focused on academics.

Yeah, this board is academic-focused, and with all the kids looking at schools like Harvard, it's a given that there aren't going to be many posts here. Go on Facebook, we got a bunch of MSU people there.

I've got to say, I'm a pretty stunned by the near total silence on this board -- I mean, the last MSU board post nearly a month ago! And no, I don't buy that because a lot of kids are into Harvard, there's not going to be much interest in MSU. There are many schools that most people would call lesser than MSU that draw considerably more interest... Fact is, applications are setting records at MSU. And people are noticing, GoBlueMom among them, that a great school like UM is losing a number of bright kids to MSU. This isn’t necessarily new or surprising to me, but it’s good to see a Wolverine honest enough to acknowledge it. ... So where's everybody hiding?... I guess it's at least heartening to see MSU come up in a number of other discussions. But let’s hear from those who are either at, going or have a modicum of interest in MSU. What are you thinking?

Yeah, our school all the top 10-20% kids are going to UM, and the next 30-40% are going to MSU, it's definitely becoming better viewed. I know a bunch of kids who didn't apply because they didn't think they'd get in. Although I think a lot of schools set records this year in apps. I think it's prestige is getting better.

I got waitlisted from Umich and that's why I'm going to MSU, (I was in the top 10% of my class btw). I had it set in my mind that I was going to transfer to U of M after my freshman year, but now that I've actually gone to orientation, MSU isn't so bad. My hall is Yakeley and I am in-state.

So let me liven up this board a little bit....

I told you some info about me, how about you guys give some info about yourselves?

smurfette- West Circle is such a pretty area! You'll love it.

I'm going to be in Mason-Abbot, planning to be a dietetics major, and am in-state as well. MSU is gonna be awesome! :)

I'm in Hubbard, argh.
