I've taken AP:
1. Physics B (4)
2. Eng Language/Comp (3)
3. American Gov (4)
5. Calc AB (5)
6. Physics C: Mechanics (5)
7. Physics C: E/M (4)
8. Statistics (4)
9. Macroeconomics (4)
10. Eng Literature/Comp (5)
(I got As in all these classes, I just never studied for the AP exams)

SAT Scores:
Just took them last Saturday, still waiting for my scores. But I took a practice test and got:
MATH - 760
CR - 740
WRITING - 720

SAT2 (Im retaking both of these in November)
Physics - 750
MATH 2 - 710 (But my calculator died lol)

ACT: Havn't taken yet

Class Rank: 18/400 (SUPER Competitive, Ranked #7 in the Country)

ECs:
1. Intern at the Scripps Research Institute
2. Varsity Swimming, Varsity Lacrosse, JV Volleyball
3. Tutor at local intercity elementary school
4. Lots of service/volunteering with my church

About Me:
I'd say my defining feature is my passion to "create." I lovelovelove designing/building sculptures, fountains, little machines, etc. I suck at test taking, following directions, and doing things the way you're "supposed to." But I'm pretty d@mn good at initiating my own ideas and bringing them into fruition.

Essays: Stellar! (I hope O.o)

Thanks!!!!

p.s. im applying EARLY. I absolutely LOVE Yale!!! :)

Good stats all comes down to luck… Low on ECs though

If your applying early you need to have all SATs in before november…

710 Math2 is really bad, so just for that probably nahh

I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but sorry.

I know my math2 sucks…my calculator died and i spent half the time trying to revive it/switching batteries (which turned out to be the wrong kind of batteries lol). I’m like in my 3rd year of College/Dual Enrollement math (I’m actually graduating HS w/ all the courses required for a math minor at my local university (FAU) )…710 is nowhere near the score Im capable of lol. Besides, does Yale really put that much emphasis on test scores?? And i got 690 on literature SAT2 test. how sucky is that? (Again, I’m terrrrible at test taking lol) Thanks again!!!

more ECS:

 1. HOSA
 2. First Priority
 3. Autism Speaks
 4. 1st place science fair
 5. a lot of awards in national SPANISH exams
 6. A bunch of blue ribbons in ART competititions (Im going to submit an art portfolio/supplement)

also, do you really need scores by nov? can’t you still submit your app but just send your scores later??

[Standardized Testing for Freshman Applicants | Yale College Admissions](Standardized Testing Requirements & Policies | Yale College Undergraduate Admissions)

This doesn’t make sense. Why would you take Calc BC when you are already taking Diff eq and Matrix Theory and have taken Multivariable Calc? Otherwise pretty solid chances.

You need to raise your sat scores with out a question- 750 and higher for physics and math… your ec’s are lacking though… there’s nothing in them that shows your passionate about engineering… try and do research or get something in there that shows your really passionate about “creating”.

well, im in a “Math, Science and Engineering” program, does that count? and Whale, Whale, Im taking Calc BC online…I never took the BC exam as my calc 2 and 3 classes were dual enrollment and i wanted credit for another ap class.
and gstransfer: i do research at the SCripps Research Institute.

Question: How important are test scores to Yale?

Test scores and gpa area given you have to have them… your competing with thousands of kids for a few spots… most of them will have 2250 and 750 and above on sat 2… they are very important…

don’t listen to Sheep. 710 is still in the range for Yale.

Hey shebalee, definitely ignore Sheep. I had 710 not only on my SAT Math2, but also on my SAT math section. And here I sit, in my Yale dorm room, a member of Class of 2015 :).
