How does York College’s academic rigor compare to Loyola University/Salisbury University?
I would be interested in hearing people’s perspectives on this as well.
I am going to say Loyola is going to be more rigorous than York and Salisbury, but don’t really know how York is perceived.
WHICH York College?!!! There are at least 3 colleges with that name. One in Pennsylvania, one in New York, and one in Nebraska.
@jonri I am guessing OP means the one in York, due to the mentions of Loyola and Salisbury, which are all MD area schools.
I think York can be an affordable choice for PA residents in a state that has lousy state school pricing (not lousy schools, just expensive state schools!). I know some nursing students who have had good experiences there. I think Loyola is probably a bit more selective than York and I do not know much about Salisbury but I believe it is a Maryland state school.
I only know (some) about York - enough to know that students from my school are happy going there and successful at getting jobs, etc, afterward. One who transferred to Penn St (Main Campus) for her final two years said she liked York’s professors better. (Yes, she was talking about York College and not Penn St York - two different places.) Neither Loyola nor Salisbury come to mind with anecdotes from students I’ve talked with to compare.
I asked about Salisbury in a different thread and the feedback was decent. I know a few graduates of Loyola (granted 20+ years ago), and they are very successful.
