You Are Tiger Town Bound

oos (PA) daughter got her big orange envelope which her sister accidentally dropped in the snow. 15K merit. Lots of happy faces in our house tonight. Now we just have to wait for Honors on February 15. Going to be a long couple of months. Of course there we have some Tiger football at the beginning of next month to take our minds off it.

@burghdad She did even though her test scores are just out of range. We thought, why not? If she doesn’t get in, she’ll apply to Calhoun in fall of Freshman year and can hopefully be in it by second semester. We know lots of kid who have done that and she doesn’t want to live in the Honors dorm anyway - she wants to live int he all-girls dorm.

Good approach

@Baxter126 and @burghdad congrats to you both!! That is wonderful!

S received his Tigertown Bound envelope today. It was a complete surprise because we were thinking it would be February before he would hear anything. He is OOS, Psychology, 3.76 UW, 31 ACT, 10 APs, school doesn’t rank.

Forgot to add that he received the $7500 OOS scholarship!

letter

there u go!

@OriginalSmother congrats!! what state do you live in?

Accepted today into engineering!! 4.5 weighted and 1390 SAT!

got mine today to business. 32 ACT, 3.95 UW 15,000 a year

@mweb136 We live in Texas

Just received acceptance today. OOS private school in Atlanta, Georgia. Engineering major. 3.85 GPA. 6 APs (only 7 APs available), 33 ACT. School doesn’t rank. 4 year varsity letterman in 2 sports, Significant community service. $7500 scholarship.

33 should get u $15,000 not just 7500 that I got with 31 ACT.

Not sure how Clemson determines the scholarship money. I would think that a 33 (perfect score on 2 sections and 35 if they actually superscored) would have provided more than $7500. Perhaps it is because he is pursuing engineering coupled with the number of applicants. Am curious on that. Other similarly ranked Engineering schools have offered him over $100K in scholarship money.

For those of you that have been accepted, when did you send in applications? S18 sent his in late November and hasn’t heard yet. He has a 1350 SAT, 4.4 wgpa, Varsity Sports, tons of great ECs, awards, and is top 20% in rank. We are OOS. I think he applied to Biochemistry.

@gtfan87 Congratulations. Those are awesome achievements and so great to hear already. It probably has to do with his class rank, as they told me that you have to be top 10% for the $15,000. Even though your school doesn’t rank, they estimate based on other applicants and historical data and that’s probably what happened…but after the holidays, I would nicely investigate. It couldn’t hurt and there may be something that got miscalculated. Again, congratulations and everyone else, hang in there!

@chb088 OOS applied on October 13, but for some reason didn’t get “application complete” email until November 14 and got acceptance letter yesterday. 35 ACT 4.0 UW 4.4 W top 10%

We are waiting still too. Has anyone from NJ heard anything yet?

Accepted yesterday (12/18) and sent in application in late August or first week of September (at the latest).
