You have to apply to uconn AND a sub-school?????? (Undergraduate)

So I am wondering, becuase I read this online..... When applying as an undergraduate, do you have to apply to the school in general and then one of the sub schools, i.e. school of business, school of engineering, etc.? OR just the school and then you can pick which classes you want.

Also, I have a 1900 combined score (first time) and an unweighted GPA of a 3.00 (obviously low), and I am going on to senior year. My weighted is a 3.5. Softmore year I took 1 AP, junior 2 APs + 1 Honor, and next year I will take 3 APs. Both my grandfather and father went to storrs, so I have legacy.
Also, I do/have a lot of volunteering/extra's/achievements.

Do you think I can get into storrs, and if the answer to my first question is yes, then can I also get into business/engineering school too?

You need to indicate your intended major (ergo school) in your application. You can always apply to transfer internally after you are admitted.

You have a chance for Storrs. You probably could not get into the businesses school, at least initially, and you may have a shot at engineering. Regardless, you will need to take general education courses, so remember you can always enter a specific school/college after you are admitted to the University.
