You know what I hate??

I really don't like the people who say "Chance Me" when they have 790's on SAT I's, 800's on SAT II, 3.99+ / 4.0 GPA, lots of EC, good recomendations...

Seriously your stats are above average (top 1% without a doubt) and you don't really need to ask people what your chances are going to a certain school...because your already set. Just write a good essay and hope for the best.

...but then again, I know people with 2000 SAT scores choosen over 2300's.

I think "Chance Me" should be for the people who actually want to know their chances, who want to dream but know they have a high probabilty of getting shot down, not for stellar scholars who want reassurance that they'll get into the ivy of their choice.

Seriously, your stats are already above the rest. Don't ask "Chance Me" because every person who answers that post will reply, "Yes, you have a good shot at ..."

a lot of the "perfect" chance me threads are trolls.

Well I consider it fair when people have 2200 SATs, GPAs close to 4, etc. when they really want to know about their chance at MIT, Stanford, Yale, these schools. I mean you can't blame them for being curious (even more curious than those with lower scores, as they can feel good about the admissions process rather than crappy). But then again, I'll agree that a bunch of the threads are a bit pointless, as it's people who do as much as possible and have a shot anywhere, while CC posters clearly can't decide "in" or not.

Basically, the higher up the grades and scores are, the harder it is to predict chances without getting a ton of info about the person.
