You must post if you haven't started summer reading yet

Lol no, who starts summer reading in July? I also can’t because I am extremely busy for the next three and a half weeks.

anyone else on here have to mail out assignments? or is it just me?

The Odyssey, the entire Bible and Jane Eyre for my AP Lit class.

I start school in three weeks. I’ve finished reading my 4 books, but haven’t started the 2 assignments that go along each book. I also haven’t started a biography project on an author. The closer I get to the start of school, the more I’m procrastinating.

moon_star, I somehow doubt you have to read the entire Bible…

I still have to read four books and write five essays along with a bunch of other assignments…fun:(

^ nope, I really have to. Lit class in my school is known to be the most demanding of all APs because of the teacher.

i’ve read 7 pages of my first book.

i have to read 2 books, and do a hugeee math packet

Ahh, I love reading but I can barely get myself to finish books I choose in the summer unless it’s new. And I couldn’t find it in me to finish Jane Eyre the first time it was assigned to me (Sophomore year…) so I’m hoping I can actually finish it this summer. I don’t even know the 2nd book to read’s name! Ha.

I can proudly say I took the dust-cover off of Jane Eyre though… as if I might read it soon. :)

I’ve got three books to read, haven’t read a single page yet.

Hell, I don’t even know one of my books’ name.

Three Cups of Tea - haven’t started
Anything/Choice book - haven’t picked out yet
Math packet - haven’t started
:stuck_out_tongue: procrastination is fun…well, I have at least a month and a half!!!

I haven’t!
I have to read A Farewell to Arms for an essay when we get back to school, and another “discussion” book that no one actually reads.

AP Bio - barely started
AP Gov - DONE
AP Lit - barely started
AP Calc AB - DONE

Not bad. =]

I envy your English class.

The Prince was amazing (in a creepy way).

How to Solve It (Polya), Concepts of Modern Mathematics (Stewart), and some SMSG textbooks from the 60s or 70s that are in the public domain. Plus Gilbert Strang’s amazing calculus book. It’s pretty light stuff, but very entertaining.

English - read and done, but not understood
History - barely started
Chem - 30% done
Spanish - 50% done
APES - not started

i’ve worked through about 10 pages of The Crucible, out of ~150 for lang. i’ve finished about 30% of the summer assignment, and its due tuesday D; as for APUSH, ive finished 30% of the assignment, but have not yet started reading The Jungle

The prince by Maciavelli was the best! I am so depressed about our literature in Ap english. So I read 1 book. It was an awful book. Lately, our AP ENG teachers keep giving us all this modern nonsense books. I hate them. They are not cool. I don’t want to read Freakonomics or the THINGS THEY CARRIED. I would rather memorize AP european History. I hate modern bookks teachers pick- sigh.

Whoever was complaining about the grapes of wrath, at least you have Time Traveler’s Wife - I love that book! I also swear by The Things They Carried and found Freakanomics particularly engaging, though, so maybe you ought not to trust me.

Right now, as I write this, I should be reading East of Eden. I’m only a few pages in and so far Steinbeck has just been setting the scene. Hopefully, sometime in the next 50 pages, a plot will emerge.

English: An Artist of the Floating World (Ishiguro)
Ellen Foster (Kaye Gibbons)

World History: The Tao of Pooh (Benjamin Hoff)
The Prince (Machiavelli)

Algebra II: a math packet

I’m reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, and Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut. I’m also supposed to do a blog on both books - to promote “dialogue”. Did I mention I’m not even going to have this teacher again next year, but she’s still making us do this? :/
