"You'll Be Successful at Binghamton" email

Did everyone get one of these? I checked my status, as suggested by the email, but still no change.

Is this really necessary to send out to students who haven't been accepted for admission? Have a heart, Bing!

I just got this email too. I got trolled hard man. I suppose we still have to wait… Rrg Bing…

I got one as well, i really want to believe this is a sign that i got accepted but it’s probably nothing more then an email they send to all who applied. This is just flat out cruel if they are sending this email to kids who are going to get rejected within the next 3 weeks

I got one too. I suggest that someone here calls to find out what it means if anything. When I saw the subject I got excited but then nothing had changed on my bing account. Maybe something will change by the end of the day. I hope that bing wouldn’t urge you to check your status if nothing was going to change.

I wish it were a good sign, but I don’t think so. Back in January Bing sent out an email about “Going Green at Binghamton” shortly before they started mailing Early Action admissions but I was deferred. At the bottom of that email it said, “now go check your status!” Bleh.

I just got this email too, I know I may or may not get into Binghamton, I hope this email is a good sign but I feel like it got sent to everyone.

I got this message as well. I doubt it means anything, if you notice at the bottom of the e-mail it reads, “You opted in to this list from Binghamton University.” Maybe you forgot to unclick some box at the end of the application.

Ah, that probably explains it. Still, pretty sneaky on Bing’s part. They should be more sensitive about the fact that lots of kids are waiting on pins and needles to find out whether they’re in or out or waitlisted.

But how can you be successful at bing if you don’t get accepted? Now that’s the question.

Indeed! And how can I go green at Bing if I’m not accepted? If I am accepted, I’ll forget all about this emailing situation. If not, I’ll hold it against Bing forever :)

I’m suing if I get rejected.

Me too-class action lawsuit!

I was accepted and got the email a day later. But also, everyone i know who applied got it.

lol my heart skipped a beat when I saw this email and the one before that (“Premier Education Opportunities at Binghamton.”) None of the colleges that I applied to sent me emails like that after the application deadline. Even though it probably doesn’t mean anything I hope it does.

@Luyw12: Exactly! I applied to 11 schools. Several of them were SUNYs! No other school sends out teaser emails like this after the application deadline! Grrr.

I was accepted a few days ago and I got the email as well. Looks like it was a mass email?

Most likely mass email because my application is still ongoing, and I got the email. Thankfully I was already somehow reading the body of the email before I even knew it was from Bing.

Hopefully they sent it to all who have been and who will be notified that they have been accepted in the near future. The subject line just implies too much in my opinion.

Brown university sent out a similar email to all applicants, not all of whom have been accepted

It’s definitely a mass email. Everyone who applied got one, and it’s really cruel of Bing to do this. I’ll probably end up going to Geneseo even if I do get accepted at Bing.
