Young Democrats Club

Hey guys. Hoping you could help.

Can you help me think of activities for this club next year? Since there are no presidential elections, the club has sort of stagnated. I was hoping to pick it up and do some nice things with it. But what things? What could keep the club going?

Thank you SO much.

How 'bout a mock primary?

midterm elections? gubernatorial, senate, house, state govt races? there are always elections to work for!

What about School Board elections? Anything local-- good experience and it affects them directly.

The Young Democrats club at my school mostly does community service.

We were active during our Governor's election...but seeing as most elections have died down, we focus on community service. The last meeting we had, we made sandwiches for a homeless shelter.

I think with community service, there are always many projects to help out with.

Also, maybe its a good way to get involved with liberal issues. the immigration debates are a great way to get involved

Helping out in campaigns at all levels; possibly attempting to even have active participation in City Hall procedures (required of all seniors here as civic duty).
And EconMajor88 has a good point: putting up public debate fronts might be worth something.

We have a young democrats club @ our skool. lol heavy libs i tell ya but im thinking about joining it

Also, voter registration drives are always important, and can be fun. Have you looked at hooking up with organizations like Music For America that could get you free concert tickets for registering young people to vote? It would be a great way to have fun and get involved with the democratic process (plus, it would probably get more people to come to meetings in an off season)
