If a current Amherst student has a younger sibling who plans to apply to Amherst next year, does the college admissions office take into account the current Amherst student’s academic record as a way to evaluate the younger student? Just wondering if the college looks at how well (or not so well) the current student has performed, with respect to academics, social involvement on campus, and the relationship the student has with faculty and administration. Thanks!

I know they give siblings a boost in admissions, but I doubt they dig too deeply into what the older sibling did/does. Outside of sports teams, for example, there is no master list of who participates in what activity and how much they are involved. They might make note of things like whether the sibling was put on academic probation, but probably not much more than that.
