If you’ve been reading the DST thread you knew this was coming!
They say Americans are deprived of sleep. Some people claim they do fine on 6 hours others can’t function on anything less than 8 hours.
7 days in the week. Post your most common wake up/hit the sack times. Post this first, then any detail below it - just makes it easier to target in on! If you must, post a weekday and weekend schedule.
Myself, Monday-Friday
Wake up: 5:40am
Bedtime: 10pm
Average total: 7.5 hours nightly
Wake up time varies- it’s earlier on the days I have a Sunrise Yoga class (at 6:30) or am meeting friends for a group run. My H knows if I am still sleeping at 8 AM. he should check my vitals.
Although I go to bed at 9:30, I typically read until 10.
I go to sleep 11:30-midnight and wake about 7ish or so. Seems just right for me. When I had to get the kids to school, went to sleep earlier and woke earlier.
I have insomnia so I generally get out of bed between 3:30-5. That means I am completely exhausted by 9:30. It has been nice having D home for a few days of her break because I am usually getting up as she is going to bed
Wake up around 7:30 am, go to be around 10:30-11pm
When the kids were young, my husband took care of them in the morning.
He made them lunch too.
I’m not a morning person.
Dogs get us up around 5:30 everyday. They don’t know that we are retired. I usually head to bed around 10 pm. Dogs go to bed around 7:30 pm. Lazy bums.
Turn off the light 11:30
Wake time between 7 and 8
I can not fathom how people go to bed at 9 pm! Especially in the summer.
My D is a natural night owl, like my mother was. Very hard for her to go to sleep before 1 am - and hard for her to get up for WFH at 9 am!! She will be ecstatic if we move to DST all year.
When we worked we went to bed before 11 PM and got up before 7 AM. Since retirement we go to bed after midnight and get up after 8 AM. Lucky we are both night owls.
Wake up at 7. Go to bed at 10:30. Fall asleep after staring at the ceiling in the dark for 2 hours. I would go to bed later but Mr. insists on earlier bedtime.
@jmnva06 , do you live at our house? NPR comes on at 6. Sometimes we get up then, sometimes stay cozy and listen to the news. Sometimes I fall back half asleep and the news becomes part of my dreams, which these days can be pretty unsettling.
