So I read all the time that less sleep is the precursor to less success. But the studies didn't seem to mention that sleep probably isn't the sole reason for lower GPA/less success/whatever. Students probably sleep late because they put off most homework until late at night, when studying is not as efficient a time, and thus they don't perform well on tests. But what about people who just have to study all day and into the late night? Are they at that risk for lower GPA because of their lack of sleep?
So I'm just curious, especially for people who know of anyone with bad sleeping habits, how many hours of sleep do you average per night, and what is your GPA?

hm, anyone lol.
i wanna say its a personal preference thing, and as long as you aren't procrastinating, amt. of sleep you get doesnt factor in too much as long as you're gettin a reasonable, average amount...

I get about 5 hours a night, a little more on weekends but not much. I have a 3.87 and will hopefully be getting a 4.0 this quarter, but it's still too soon to judge.

I have a 3.15 GPA right now in college, and I get about 4-5 hours of sleep (about) a night. Ehh...only midway through 1st semester freshmen year, so I'm not worried about it at all.

I wanna say sleep is personal preference thing.every person must sleep 6 hours per day.Sleeping is good for health as well.Usually i love to sleep for 6 hours per day.

to add to this...what time do you guys sleep? whenever I sleep really late (like 3-4 AM) but wake up with a "full amount" of sleep (around 8 hours), I'm still tired the rest of the day.

I've gotten the least amount of sleep I've ever gotten this year, and my averages are lower than they ever have been. This could be attributed to difficult courses, but I'm sure exhaustion is a factor ;)
