Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Happy Week for me…the Popcornopolis roadshow is at the Sam’s near my office for an entire week. The price has gone up (3 bags for $12), but worth every penny for that awesome “zebra popcorn”. Here’s the link so you can check for it coming near you (Sams/Costco schedule).

They say that the seal keeps it fresh for 6 months so I’m buying some for my son & his roommates “back-to-school” stash. If you haven’t tried it you are missing out.

I’ve been doing well at Goodwill lately - my local GWs get “salvage” stuff from Target, which is stuff that either has a beat up box or has been marked down numerous times and didn’t sell, so gets donated. I found a Target salvage Keurig B40 for $35…I’m actually not really sure how it ended up there considering it was the box wasn’t too beaten up and it didn’t look like it had ever been unpacked.

I also found a barely worn pair of Topsiders for $5 (my old ones were starting to look a little beat up so I was just about to buy new ones!) and a silk Brooks Brothers dress for $5.

^^juba, I went to Goodwill looking for furniture to outfit DD’s first apartment – no luck there – but found a pair of never-worn Ferragamo’s for $4.00!!! At least $200 retail, and they’re the perfect shade to go with a dress I’m wearing to a wedding at the end of the month. Plus they fit!

It’s a reminder to me that I should just stop in once a week to check things out. I normally don’t get over to the used shoe section …but go figure.

Goodwill is always a mess ,but I never fail to find something when I go .

Coldwater Creek is currently offering an additional 40% off everything in their “outlet” plus free shipping.

Thanks Northeastmom, there are some nice jewelry pieces for D and a throw for MIL all at great prices…working on the Christmas shopping! If you spend $80 or more, NZX7213 will get you an additional $20 off.

Your welcome, Mom2M. The jewelry is what I bought. I buy these pieces whenever they have a great sale like this one. They did have a wide jewelry selection this morning. I don’t know what has since sold out.

Thanks, Northeastmom. I just placed an order for a cute jacket (fitted knit denim). For the price, it was definitely worth taking a chance on it.

nysmile, I have returned an item or two to my local store. It was very easy. I just don’t care to be in traffic to get there! I never go to this location unless I really need to go there.

When I go to ColdwaterCreek’s site, I see the 40% off everything in Outlet, but I don’t see the free shipping (says normal shipping rates apply). Do you need a special code, or to go through a different site, in order to get the free shipping??
Thanks.

I had a code that I put in, and I got a pop up that said they have free shipping now.

Northeastmom, I don’t blame you about dealing with the traffic. We really don’t have any malls or big name stores around here so most of my shopping is done on the internet. We do have an outlet mall about 45 minutes away and a typical shopping mall about 75 minutes away. It’s much easier for me to order something online and send it back if it doesn’t work out.

The traffic around here is crazy in the summer. On top of that, we have people who either seem to be oblivious to the rules of the road or only drive 2 months out of the year so they’re not very good at it. I live in a tourist area way out on eastern LI where the celebs (and wannabees) go “to be seen”.

rats, I missed the free shipping code. Oh well, life goes on :)

hmmm- I’m looking around online, and can’t find a free shipping code that works.

Just found one! - enter code AFLC782 at checkout for free shipping.

MomCat2, I just sent a PM to you.

nysmile, I guess I know where you live now!

The store near me is about a 15 minute drive, but with highway traffic it often takes longer. One can also circle the parking lot for another 20 minutes to look for parking. I know never to go btn. Thanksgiving and New Year’s! That time of year I can triple the amount of time I will be sitting in the car.

MomCat, I cross posted with you. Glad that you found it.

Bought an electric blender at Target 75% off for $5.00 Saturday. It’s so hot in Florida–we used $50 dollars worth of fruit and yogurt making icee smoothies Sunday! Maybe the blender wasn’t such a bargain.

Thanks northeastmom! I wouldn’t have known about this sale if you hadn’t posted here.

Has anyone noticed this with ColdwaterCreek or other stores?:
I’m on CWC’s emailing list, and I get emails from them at least 5 times per week, about sales, new stuff that’s come out, etc. BUT - I don’t necessarily get notified of the BEST sales. I got nothing about the current “40% off everything in Outlet” sale - today’s email was about “25% off everything in stores”, 2 days ago (Saturday) was about skirts and a summer sweepstakes. I think, but am not sure, that if I’ve ordered through one of the very “good” sales recently I’m less likely to be notifed of the next “very good” or “big” sale, but if I haven’t bought for a while I’ll get notified of the biggies in an attempt to reel me in. I also didn’t get notified by email of a recent big sale, but found out about it here at CC - thanks, you guys! (that one where you could get an EXTRA 35% after taking the 40% off was fantastic!)
One would assume that if you were on a store’s email list, that you would get notice of ALL their sales and specials, but that really doesn’t seem to be the case here. Irritating.

If you go to the couponcabin website and then search for Coldwater Creek you can see a collection of the available discount codes. You can click on the discount you want or free shipping if it is there and it will get applied at check-out. This works with hundreds of online stores; I usually check there for the best code before I buy online.

Bought a bunch of office supplies from Office Depot for $.70 plus two coupons we got from prior purchases with their affinity program. Merchandise was valued at over $80 and stuff we needed/wanted. They let us use the $10 off merchandise totaling $50+ and the $70 credit on the same purchase. Now, to organize my stuff!
