I’ve been meaning to buy Apples to Apples for the longest time but when I went to B&N last week, it was $30. I’m glad I waited now to buy it because Mattel is having it for $19.99! Plus free shipping. Can’t waitttt to play with my fam.

I’m looking at those LE Alpine Trekkers for my DS as well. He has long walks to class on a big wet, snowy campus, so I wanted him to get some decent waterproof hiking boots for winter, in addition to a pair of more “traditional” snow boots for “playing”. I am worried about size/fit/comfort too though, as my DS is traditionally hard to fit in shoes (i.e., tries on 20 pairs of shoes before finding on that feels ok and doesn’t have anything that pokes or rubs or feels weird, etc.) though he has been getting less so recently. And we don’t have a local Sears where we could return them if they don’t work out, but we may be able to send them home with the grandparents to return at a Sears near them when they visit, if they don’t work out.

Apples to Apples is a great family game, especially with mixed ages.

Kathiep, honestly, I don’t know how good Lands End winter boots are. We almost always buy Sorel or Kamik winter boots (both made in Canada). I was looking at these: [Amazon.com: Kamik Men’s Canuck Cold Weather Boot: Shoes](http://www.amazon.com/Kamik-Mens-Canuck-Cold-Weather/dp/B0036FT0QG/ref=pd_sbs_shoe_2) With the 25% off today, that’s a pretty good price. I can’t really tell if the liner is removable on the LE boots, but that’s a really useful feature when trying to get your boots to dry after you get snow in them (which wouldn’t usually happen while just walking, but if they go sledding or “play” in the snow, getting snow inside is inevitable)

As I mentioned, my DS doesn’t want real “snow boots” for walking, just a waterproof hiker. Even in places where there’s a lot of snow, walking to class would usually be over cleared sidewalks with only a few inches of new accumulation at most. For walking to class, I’m looking at the Trekkers you were looking at for your DH. I think those might be more suitable for your DS as well if he wants something for walking in, as opposed to playing in. My DS says a real snow boot would be too clunky for walking long distances. I was thinking of a goretex hiker, but those are closer to $200 so I’m tempted to try the LE with their “guaranteed period” guarantee and see if they’re suitable. Especially since I’m not sure my DS is done growing!

I guess the Ann Taylor site is overwhelmed. I have been trying to hours to choose items and check out but finally got a notice that the site is temporarily unavailable. Worst part is that I lost what is in shopping bag so I have to start over.

I had the same probs with the Ann Taylor Loft site. Gave up and went to the store in the Mall. Manager agreed to match the web deal so I got 50% of my instore purchases- yeah!

I ordered the women’s mocs using a $10 GC to further reduce the cost and received another $10 card with that purchase.

Shoebuy has had some 25% off coupons lately; the current code is CYBER. Since they offer free shipping both ways, I took a chance and ordered a pair for dd. Their site offers some ability to select Country of Origin, too.

Silpat, if you don’t limit yourself to USA-made shoes, there are plenty of options. On Nordy’s and many other websites you can search for “made in USA”, “made in Spain”, etc. footwear. Munro and Athena Alexander shoes are US-made, Naot and Beautifeel are manufactured in Israel, Stuart Weitzman makes his shoes in Spain, and there are plenty, plenty of shoemakers that make their shoes in Italy. Happy shopping. I’m running a little experiment just to see if I can live a year without buying anything made in China. Nothing against China, just trying to give others a fair share of my spending dollars. So far, 2 months without any problems. Most makers put “made in” on the product; only once I had to call (Aveno) to verify where the product was made and talked to a nice rep who answered right away and spoke perfect English. :)

I am currently wearing a pair of Lands End boots I bought for one of my kids YEARS ago. I’m not sure the kid ever wore them. I have no idea what model they are but the have some kind of liner and they are waterproof…and warm.

Not a bargain but I just want to throw out a warning to people buying rawhide chews for their pets this holiday: there has been cases of illness and even death from rawhides from China. I suggest people stick to rawhides that are processed in this country.

I haven’t bought one of these in a long time, but decided to buy D an Entertainment Book since she has located to a new city. Today (for the next couple of hours yet!) they are only $25 and free shipping PLUS on Ebates there is 40% cash back!

Apparently there is an app she can download on her Iphone to SOMETIMES use instead of an actual coupon, but also the app can be used to locate offers in her area.

Nysmile, that is a good deal. I’m sure they will repeat it before Christmas, but last year I got a nice red coat 40% off, love it.

I also got 25% off sale merchandise at J Crew and FREE shipping…they are always stingy about that, you have to usually spend 100.00. I bought a nice cardigan, 2 shirts and a sweater for under 75.00.

I snagged some great deals at the outlet mall on Black Friday! My husband’s cousins had the whole day to kill between a cruise and their flight home, so I drove down to meet them and we went shopping. The mall was very, very busy, waited 20 minutes just to valet park the car! There were lines outside of the popular designer stores, like Burberry, Coach, and Michael Kors. The Michael Kors store had hour plus waits all day long! I did find some very nice mens wallets at Burberry for $45 and a couple of ladies wallets for $55. Sports Authority had some great deals too, bought some Nike Thermo run tights @ 40% off. I also bought some stuff at J. Crew, all 40% off. My daughter found a great coat, with a zip in liner, for $60. Plus, J. Crew gives a college student discount of 15%, even on the clearance stuff! And we had a fabulous lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. Although I dislike shopping, definitely prefer to do most online, it was a fun day spent with my daughter and cousins, who we rarely get to see.

Ann Taylor extended their 50% off sale through today online. I scored some nice fingerless gloves yesterday–I had to refresh and take my time, but it was worth it!
