When they have the Clear the Rack sales…some of the prices are rock bottom. I got my daughter a great dress for $2.99 once.
@abasket, I got another Eliza J dress there for somewhere around $20, on clearance. But other times they aren’t marked nearly as low. Who knows…?
I’m Always happy to find good deals, but I’m trying really hard not to buy things just because they are good deals.
I love ElizaJ dresses. You are lucky. Great score!
I bought a black velvet Eliza J dress for $13 at NR awhile back. That’s the lowest I’ve ever seen so kudos to those finding $ .01 and $3 dresses!
@1214mom . I remember your $.01 story! I so loved it! And now I can’t believe it’s been a few years since your post…
I couldn’t resist going to the local NR yesterday, after reading this thread. Alas, not even one thing to try on. Wishing others success.
I hit the downtown NR yesterday. Nope. No such bargains to be found. Saw a skirt that I loooooved, but it was 2 sizes too small. If anyone finds a size 4 of this, I’ll send you a bottle of bubbly!

Stopped at the NR and thought that the women’s clothes are unattractive and cheap looking.
Men’s are still good but not usually super low prices.
I found a Robert Graham bag for D for $75. I check online while in the store
and it is selling for $199.00 elsewhere. It was in the farthest back corner of the store
with the backpacks. Only one there. I have never even looked in that spot before so it
was a pretty amazing find. Not even sure what pulled me to look.
@oregon101 having worked retail in my distant past, my guess is that a store employee hid that purse there to buy it later when they were not on the clock.
@BunsenBurner, I think you posted about buying a white shirt at Nordstrom recently. I just noticed it’s now 40% off.
bajamm, D did not like the color so maybe that employee will get it after all!
A pair of Mephisto sandals in Paris- 1/2 the US price. Happy feet.
I refuse to think of what I spent getting here.
my imac was acting wonky; granted it’s 8.5+ yrs old. Decided to buy another one before it really was too late. The apple store had a promotion to buy any apple computer and get a pair of Beats headphones free. Now, that means nothing to me. but my daughter was super thrilled and asked for them for her bday next month; looks like they sell for $300. so, sort of a good buy i guess.
Returned a Tommy H floral polo-style shirt that shrunk to above my naval after the 1st washing & drying (was going to throw it away but figured I’d try to return it). Macy’s to my delight accepted it and gave me a refund via gift card that I used to purchase a nice gift box of $38 Godiva dark chocolates in a gorgeous gift box. It was nice of the salesclerk to search for and apply a 15% discount coupon so I still have a balance on the gift card from returning the shirt! Woot!
Just picked up 90 day supply of eye drops for dry eyes. With the coupon I showed pharmacy clerk, it was FREE. The receipt says retail price $1800.99! Yowser! That’s a huge difference!
Here’s the coupon for anyone interested.

When there are no more discounts, H and I discovered both of us can use the same individual vial si a 60 vial pack will last both of us 30 days, so we could switch to that at some point in the future. The clerk said 90 day supply of individual vials was only $40 while 30 days was $35!
Well…not sure rental cars ever count as a god buy…but…
I rented a car for six days for a trip I’m on. The cost was $383 and change for a Ford Egdge which was THE cheapest car I could find anywhere. And I looked…Costco, BJs, SW airlines site, and the rental car place (Budget).
Well, I had a lay over in Baltimore today and called to let them know I would be an hour later picking the car up. But…I also asked if there were any less expensive cars available. Um…yes. I could have a Chevy Malibu for $232…yep…$150 less, and really I didn’t need a SUV at all.
Well I got there and there was a Camry in my “numbers area” so that’s what I have.
Note to self…next time I fly and I have a layover…I’ll call again. I mean really! Maybe the day of is the best time to get a less costly car.
Congrats, great job, Thumper! That’s a great discount for 1 hour shorter! I’ve never had such luck myself and just paid a LOT more for a 10 day rental at SFO for a Nissan Altima. (Since we had the read window smashed S’s backpack stolen, H has refused to rent anything without a trunk."
Thank you so much for the Restasis coupon!!!
Yeah, 90 days free worth $1800 is nice.
TJ Maxx sort of got a lot of my $$ this weekend after two separate shopping trips with D2. “Sort of” because while we had a fair amount of quantity most things were purchased for great prices!
Examples include this Max Studio Dress for $10 - I wear these dresses year around…now as is, in the fall/winter with footless tights and a cardigan:

Got another Max Studio dress for $10 but can’t find the style online - I like it even better than the one above!
And these Clark shoes - couldn’t resist a navy AND a red pair - $20 each!

Will be great with jeans, skorts, casual dresses, etc.
