Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Number one best seller apparently. lol.

And not because of the name - it is a great blush.

Thanks so much @deb922. I was running low on Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede cologne, so I took advantage of your tip. With the price match and my $20 Nordy Note from the Anniversary Sale, I scored a deal:)

I tried to buy several of the price matched items at Nordstrom but once the item was in my bag, the price went back to regular. Tried to chat with customer service and was disconnected. Iā€™m about to give up :frowning:

That stinks @GRITS80. I just checked my email from Nordstrom and I did receive the sale price.

I read on a beauty blog that Nordstrom was price matching Neiman Marcus but when I went there I did not see that anything was on sale so Iā€™m not sure

You can search on ā€œprice matchā€ on the Nordstrom website. I usually do this prior to any order.

I have a 20% off coupon for the good stuff at Ulta. No BB, but they now carry MAC. Iā€™m buying duplicates for our second home, so the timing is great.

No more price match. Bummer!!

I ended up calling Nordstrom customer service last night and the rep ran into the same problem on her end. She was reporting it to the tech people. She could see the price match but it was reverting back to original price in the cart for her too. I had 17 items in my bag so very disappointing. Plus I wasted an hour going through the site looking for deals. Iā€™m glad to learn you can search on price match. That would have saved me considerable time.

So @GRITS80, the cs rep did not price adjust your order? Iā€™d so, that is very disappointing on Nordstrom.

If that happened, I would complain in an email. Nordstrom should and I thought would honor the sale price that wasnā€™t working. Every sales associate should be able to override and give you the discount.

Especially if it was shown as a legitimate discount on their website!

30% off and free shipping at levi.com (code: FAM30). The discount worked on a jacket that was already on sale, so a nice little savings.

This is a good deal on the allclad d5 essential pan.
I use mine often

Went with my mom to Aldi today. I was at one many years ago when it first opened around here but now that area is kind of sketchy. Herā€™s, not sketchy.

Picked up a 6 qt cast iron dutch oven (choices grey or red) for $29.99. They also had matching cast iron (red or gray) 1.75 quart saucepans for $11.99 - picked up one for D2 for Christmas.

My 89 year old dad loves Aldi. Where else can you buy items you donā€™t need for cheap; well there is Costco! Many years ago he purchased a chainsaw for $20 or so. I am not really sure when he was planning to use it, and never did. At 84 years old at the time I am really glad he didnā€™t try to use it.

I love aldiā€™s. The one near me is new and very nice.

Interesting obituary of one of the Aldi owners (and owner of all the stores in the US). He was Germanyā€™s wealthiest man.

https://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/22/business/karl-albrecht-a-reclusive-founder-of-aldi-dies-at-94.html

His brother was not allowed to open any Aldis in the US but he bought Trader Joeā€™s instead. Theo was kidnapped once, negotiated a lower ransom with his captors, and convinced the German government that it should count as a tax deductible expense!

Fascinating article and story. Itā€™s nice that the stores Aldi and Trader Joeā€™s are well regarded and allowed the Aldi brothers to prosper.

Somehow we received a promo from the place we stayed in Las Vegas 18 months ago for ā€œup to 4 nights free.ā€ I figured yeah, up to being the operative words. Checking into it, we will get 4 nights in a really nice room at a really nice place for the cost of the resort fee + $50 dining credit and $50 free play. Airfare is cheap, so the total is around $500 for the two of us. The thing is, we donā€™t really gamble, but we did dine well when we were there, so I guess every $ spent, counts. It should be a nice December break.

You probably will have to endure their timeshare presentationā€¦ but heyā€¦ for that price, I would listen to a load of bs and then firmly say ā€œnoā€ and go enjoy my fancy dinner.

Not a timeshare- the Aria. I was sure it had to be something given our non-gambling, but itā€™s all on the up and up.
Next task is to find a reasonable place in Hawaii.

Depends on your definition of ā€œreasonable.ā€ If you have any military connection, Hale Koa is very well situated and lower than market rates. There are some package deals for other folks, including Costco and periodic specials run.
