Just bought two “money pouches” that you wear under clothing when travelling, to secure valuables (passport, credit card, debit card). It was $7.99 - 25% at CVS. Both are made out of cotton, so hopefully will be more comfortable to wear than some of the other ones available. Many of the ones on-line are MUCH higher & you can’t look them over to be sure they will meet your needs.

Have also borrowed a few of these, so we will have a significant inventory to choose among and hopefully find something that will appeal to each of our kids as well (would like each to carry own passport & debit card).

We don’t have a Wegman’s either and I tend not to buy much fish because not sure about its age, etc.

Found a great deal on Microsoft Office Ultimate. $59.99! You will need a student edu address to get the deal. We just used my older daughters edu address to order for younger daughter who will be entering college in the fall. Here is the link:

My SIL got us a great deal for our hotel in Greensboro, NC - $52 a night at Wyndham Hotel! She got it through her entertainment book!

For those of you with a smart phone, there’s an ap for Seafood Watch to make the best selection for sustainable fish purchases. It’s very convenient to use.

Good tip on the fish app, kathiep. I’m getting an iphone this May so I’ll look into it. I wonder if there is also something on mercury levels…I have a wallet card on that right now.
Also, Wegs is pretty good about only offering sustainable fish I think. I continue to be impressed with what they offer. And they’re opening a store soon that is closer to me.

I’m a big Wegmans fan, but sometimes I skip the “premium” fish and meats because of the cost. I’ll make an exception for the Littleneck Clams. The magazine with recipies they sent out about five times a year is great. We’re lucky that Wegmans, Costco and TJ’s are all within a 15 minute drive. Oh, and Total Wine is another great place, with prices, service and selection that top Wegmans.

OK, here is the update on my Yoox shopping experience. My package arrived yesterday - a beautiful pastel-colored “yoox box” (there was an option to pick a plain brown box at no additional charge). I was not charged any sales tax on my order which is always nice, an instant 10% savings. The three pairs of pants looked brand new, no visible defects, all tags attached, except the prices were cut off. The D&G pants were just perfect, like they were tailor-made for my rear end, the Cavalli jeans -not so much. Too tight for my tastes. I guess their measuring tape was a bit off, because 27 inches should be 27 inches even on Mars. Waaaaait… Didn’t we had a little fiasco with some Mars lander because someone misconverted inches to centimeters or something like that? &%#@ Italians, I bet they messed up just like the NASA scientists did! I will report on my return experience soon. :)

Okay shoppers= D called and the screen is broke on her Samsung Propel cell phone. The phone works but she can’t see who is calling or read text messages. She needs to be able to read text for her job. I could get her a new phone under our contract but I am thinking we should do ebay. So need a decent price on a ATT compatible cell phone that has a decent calendar function.
Does anyone have a child that the cell phone actually lasts the two years of the contract without breaking? My kids seem to go through phones. We have run out of our supply of leftover phones from relatives so at this point need to actually buy them something.
Also deciding if I should jump in the car and head 45 minutes south for a day of discount shopping. Target, Nordstrom Rack and thinking I might check out the t shirts at Kohls. Have never ventured into a Kohls. Or just take it easy and be lazy at home. I had no plans for the day since D is on spring break but now H and D took a last minute trip to Disneyland so I have a totally free day.

Edit- forgot to add. Got H and D the Disneyland area hotel on Hotwire for $59 dollars. Internet rate on said hotel was $159. They are happy.

For those of you with a Syms near you, they are having their Easter Sale. 5 or 10 bucks off pretty much everything. I got a pair of white DKNY pants, a designer jacket (really cute black and white bubbles), a cropped aqua blue jacket with big white buttons, and a black square necked top to wear under both combinations. And a silver/black necklace. All under $200. The list price for the pants - $175. I won’t list the others! Cool.

Back from the shopping trip. Not sure any of it was worth a 45 minute drive each direction but I did get a few things. And it is a beautiful drive when you remember to look.

First visit to Kohl’s. I was not overly thrilled. I did find the Sonoma T’s. I bought 4. Two white, 1 gray and a heathered brown. They were all on sale so got out of there for only 30 bucks. I felt the rest of the clothes were just fair. Though they did have a nice exercise clothing section. I doubt I would make a special trip to return.
Nordstom’s Rack- another miss today. I did get my D a On Gossamer Bra for only 9 dollars. Also a Splendid T for 19. That was it.
Most money was spent at Target- Easter candy for the plastic eggs. A couple of T shirts for my D and another white T for me.
I am pathetic. My total shopping purchases for myself consisted of basically plain T shirts in my standard colors of gray and white. As I wandered Macy’s I realized I gravitate to blue, black, white and gray.

I stopped at the “snooty place” (DD’s name for the Shops at Bravern) to return a mail-order item and missed a beautiful turquoise silk blouse by one size. It was marked down almost 70%, but alas, I decided that I needed to stick to clothes that fit perfectly. DH loves that color on me. Sigh. Maybe I’ll find it online.

Mom60 - no suggestions for the phone, but my samsung screen also malfunctioned so go easy on DD this time. Same thing, just had a black screen. I think your ebay idea is great - that way you are not locked into a plan.

mom60, I prefer Craigslist to Ebay for phones since you can quickly test them out before laying out the cash. Just meet the seller in a public place and switch your sim card (if you have one). Then call someone to test it.

Have done twice and NOW I make my kids pay for cell phone insurance :-).

We have purchased / sold cell phones on Craigslist many times and well, we have sprint, but we usually meet up at an actual sprint store, make sure the phone can be activated, pay them and we are on our way :)

At a Home Depot gardening area, I picked up an enormous boxwood shrub – for $20. The last boxwood I bought was maller than by two thirds, cost $60.
This was a major buy & may have made my week. :)

Why not get her one of the NON CONTRACT phones, maybe $30, really low on features, but no need to renew and it will do what is needed. When any one on our family plan is guilty of losing or breaking their phone, they get a cheapo phone until the next contract date.

I agree that inexpensive pre-paid phones are a great way to go to until the next contract renewal. If you buy the one compatible with your plan, they should work just fine (ask at the time of purchase).

my deal of the day ! @Walmart, I decided while I was there picking up other household items, I would grab 10 plastic tablecloths for an upcoming family event, the $1.50 plastic disposable kind in the color I wanted … finally finished shopping, bring everything to checkout, everything is being rung up and wow, they rung up for .15 cents each my lucky day !!!
