Meant to post this over the weekend so now it may not be a “good buy” cause others may not be able to get it, but a “brag” good buy.
Both my girls have been wanting a live fiddle leaf fig plant/tree. Very popular plant these days with millennials.
They can be expensive! - often in the $89- up for a full, healthy 5ft or taller plant. Found out that Costco locally had them - BEAUTIFUL ones - for $24.99! I literally RAN in the store while I dumped D2 to get a cart - I had seen people walking out with 2-3 in their cart! We were lucky -got one for each girl and they were beyond thrilled! I didn’t tackle anyone but they had just been put out and they were gone within minutes.
Funny at @abasket two of my kids have those plants. My D bought her plant at a nursery and after a bit of trial and error found the perfect spot in her living room. My S lucked out and got his plant which was a good size free from the plant company who services his office. The plant had gotten large and they were happy to find it a home.
My other kid bought an apple and cherry tree from Costco this year. Last year they got a lemon. The odd thing is my local Costco doesn’t do a lot of nursery items.
We have a row of blueberries courtesy of Costco! And 10 years ago we bought a bunch of Japanese maples for $30 apiece. The guy who replaced our windows commented on one of those maples… that it was worth at least $2,000. Plants grow faster than money in the bank! ?
Thank you @deb922 - Just purchased a wedding gift for my cousin off her registry who got married back in September. I figure I better hop to it since they just announced they’re expecting!
Well I’m in trouble now. They just opened a DSW shoe store right by my house. Today I got 2 pair of shoes for 20% off plus an additional $15 off. They were able to stack the coupons.
Received my Macy’s loot, so reporting on the quality. The Hotel feather/down blanket is simply perfect for this time of the year. The featherbed is fluffing up so have not tested it yet. Out of the two Charter Club damask coverlets, I will keep the darker one. It will be a sad day if Macy’s folds their operations. They have great housewares and bedding!!!
I’d just come home from a meeting last week when there were posts here about the great Macy’s sale, and I had a little over an hour to order. My mother had wanted some new Lanz flannel nightgowns and they were on sale with an additional amount off, so form $68 to $35. I’ve lost my Macy’s gold status so had to get to $100 to get free shipping. Added some houseware things and everything arrived.
My mother was thrilled with her ‘Mrs. Claus’ gowns, and this new model has pockets.
Was a Dillard’s this week and some items were 65% off, and then another 50%, so some sweaters and pants were down to $7.50-$10. Bought too much!
@thumper1 If you give your email, it will take you to the tote bags. Unfortunately (?) I found too many OTHER things I HAD to buy! Free shipping right now, too.
That link works for me. I see that they are now out of stock. If you put your email in you will be informed of the next online outlet sale. For those for whom the link didn’t work go to oulet.verabradleydotcom and search market tote.
If you live near a Vera Bradley outet they are having 70% all merchandise in the store.
If you do a search on “Holiday Owls” you will see holiday themed stuff deeply discounted.
There are FREE greeting cards at CVS pharmacies for Nurse’s Day (in early May). They were on display today and I picked one up and will be giving it to the nurse on my Board of Directors.
Our local supermarket had tulips in a pot today with 10% senior discount they were just under $10 with tax! I bought them for the secretary who has worked for my dad and brother for decades and hangs on to my mail for me as well. (They’re her favorite flower.)
This isn’t really a good deal of the day, more like, a good deal generally I stumbled on: Amazon for reading glasses. I keep a pair on my head, in the car, at work, by the bed, in my purse and still lose them all the time. I hate paying $15-20 to replace them at Target etc. I was happy to discover Amazon has sets of 6 for a total of $15-20. Same quality as what I get in Target etc. and I don’t feel so mad at myself when I lose them.
I am going to join DH at the end of a conference he has on a few weeks (my good deal is getting to see Lady Gaga for FREE!!) Well, we are staying one extra night, and I found a deal at a JW Marriott resort (4 star resort) that is normally over $300/night for $122/night (plus junk resort fees) PLUS I’ll get a $40 credit back on my AmEx card as part of a Marriott/AmEx promotion. I have to run the bill up to $200 to get my $40 AmEx credit. but this will not be a problem.???
