Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Looks like we will be going to Hilton Head next week for out of pocket cost of $239 (plus gas, food, etc., but still pretty cheap). Full disclosure, we have timeshare time we’ve been trying to use, and I finally found a date and place we could agree on. We of course had to pay for the timeshare time, so it’s not really that cheap, but I keep paying to extend the time for another year, and I’m happy we are using it.

Eddie Bauer has “bottoms’ 50% off. I needed some shorts (yeah, even though it’s currently snowing outside…lol) and stopped at our local store. Since I’m a “friends and family” member, I also got an extra 10% off.

I kind of got a pair of Lulu Lemon crop pants for free today. They were $118, which is more than I wanted to pay, but they were just what I was looking for. I remembered I had a store credit from rom when my husband’s pants I ordered online got lost, for months. They sent me new ones, and when the others eventually showed up, they said we could keep them or return them for store credit. So, I got the pants I wanted, and I now have 87 cents on the gift card.
I also got a good deal at Ann Taylor. I ordered a dress from them, and I received it earlier this week. Next time I looked on line, they had dresses on sale for less than $40. I called customer service and they gave me a credit. I also saved on pants, but I have to wait for them. Pants I had ordered are now 60% off. So, I returned the ones I had, and got 2 pairs at 60% off. I should have about enough pants to get me through to retirement now.

There is an 8 qt instant pot on sale 5/11 only at Sam’s for $79.99. Is that a good price? I’m on the fence about it. I would need someone to buy it for me, as I’m leaving town but can get it done if it’s an amazing deal.

^^^ It’s a good deal but I think good deals on Instant Pots come around often now. Is it the Instant Pot brand or otherwise? I wouldn’t go out of my way for that unless you’ve been dying to get one in your home.

It’s the Instant Pot brand. I’m ambivalent. I love stews and soups but we dine out a lot.

8 quart is a giant IP. I would recommend a smaller one for a 2-person household. 6 or even 3 quart. The bigger the size, the more liquid it takes to come to pressure.

As a 2 person household, the 6 qt has been plenty large enough for us.

8 qts is large if it only you and your husband.

Ok. Thanks. Our two kids do come and visit a few days/year but mostly it’s just the two of us. Will keep this in mind.

We have the six quart. It’s plenty for one meal for a family of four. When we two use it…we have leftovers for another meal.

Anyone have a 30% discount code of Kohls?

It’s time to feed my addiction to Nespresso machines - I need one for our new 5th wheel & to put in the guest cabin when we aren’t camping. Knowing they go on sale around Mother’s Day, I’m checking prices. Most stores are 30% off, some are 35%, WS has one model I like for ~55% off. I was walking through Macy’s yesterday - 10% off. It definitely pays to check around.

REI sent a coupon for $20 off a $50 purchase. I put that to good use with a present for H’s birthday.

@zeebamom Speaking of the REI membership, how much of a good buy is it?

@Meddy - we use it throughout the year. Items on sale aren’t eligible for the dividend, but most of the time it does make sense for us to shop there. A grill I bought H was the same price as other stores, but I’ll get about $25 back on it next March with the dividend check.
We’ve had the membership since college when there was one store in Seattle. (I miss that place.)

@zeebamom I probably make one or two purchases a year and I always pause thinking whether or not I should just buy in. It would probably be one of those things where I would wind up shopping there more if I did.

If you make a purchase from Macy’s online today you can get 12% cashback with ebates. They are giving 15% off cosmetics and then a bonus 12% cashback with ebates is a good deal.

Ebates (now Rakuten) is celebrating 20 years of “savvy shopping” right now. Macy’s, Ulta, Walgreens, and others are currently listed at 20% cash back!

I have never heard of Rakuten.
Just checked it out. I think I need to do some shopping.

I just had an Ebates notice pop up on my screen a few minutes ago and yes they were promoting the high % back. Never saw anything about Rakuten! I think I got the pop up because I have the Ebates button on my Chrome.
