I love Corelle. I’ve had mine for over 25 years- lightweight and fits the dishwasher better than any other dishes I’ve had.
Yes, I love Corelle and have been slowly acquiring 18 oz Corelle cereal bowls at CVS. They’re a great size for me and pretty durable, even a few times when one has slipped and hit the sheet vinyl on the kitchen floor or if they’re banged together.
They’re made in the US and make my H (the dishwasher) happy, so that’s the main thing! My SisIL and brother have had Corelle for years and love it too!
I still have most of my Corelle from college over 30 years ago and sent them with DS18 when he went away last year.
@JazzyTXMom & others–if you’ve replaced your Corelle, what did you replace it with? The things I’ve seen online aren’t as attractive to me and as light as Correlle. From H’s point of view. they don’t fit in the dishwasher as well either. S really dislikes all the Correlle I just purchased. He just says it’s ugly and he dislikes that the bowls don’t have a foot to keep the hot food from being hot in your hand if you lift the bowl.
I love my Corelle. It’s a mix of dishes my grandmother picked with me at Caldor’s for engagement gift (some of you probably had them, 1985 - white with small maroon flowers around the edge) and frost white.
For the past few years I’ve been on a kick to mix in some others from thrift shop, usually on 50% off day. Once I got a batch of 10 dinner plates for $2.50 total… than They stack compactly, so it’s fun to have extras around for big parties or when I want to use a different pattern. Recently I started using a fun fruit pattern again, summery colors
Hmmm, thanks for the thought. So far, the Corelle I purchased was just plain white from Target. It’s very basic and utilitarian but will keep an eye out for fun patterned plates and/or accent pieces.
@HImom I also have Fiestaware but also added plain white Corelle from Target–dinner plates, salad plates, bowls–for the kids to use (even though they are now both adults) because I do not trust them with my beloved Fiestaware. The Fiestaware is definitely not as light as Corelle but I love the colors.
The Corelle plates have proven to be indestructible. I remember dropping a plate on a linoleum floor years ago and it bounced. More recently, I have dropped a plate on my tile floor and it survived as well. I also have a collection of Christmas themed Corelle dessert plates that we use once a year. I bought them post-holiday one year for a really great price.
Corelle is Almost indestructible. I had some from 1977…and about 10 years ago, dropped a plate on ceramic. It shattered into a billion tiny, microscopic pieces. Nightmare to clean up. But–considering the years of use (microwave, kid years, etc)., I forgave it…
Anyone remember Corningware cookware/bakerware made by the same company as Corelle? My mom had the vintage white with blue cornflower print. I had a set of Visions cookware which I loved as they were glass and I was able to see the items cooking through the lid. Sadly, they were not as durable as the tableware and I think I may only have one lid left from the set.
I still have a set of Corningware bakeware, with lids, with the white and cornflower design. The square, 2 qt one gets alot of use, the smaller ones get used alot less.
Yes, I always liked (and still like) that Cornflower design.
Up until a year ago I had matching Corelle and Corningware baking dishes - with small ivy designs. These were my first “fancy” dishes! Gave the dishes to our young friends but kept the baking dishes. Like these:

Cc did not let me link to the dishes on Etsy.
For anyone who has nest cameras/doorbell and pays for the nest aware subscription: they are offering an better price for the regular subscription and for an upgraded subscription (I don’t recall the upgrade deal as I didn’t pay attention to it)- you will not only get a longer time that the recordings of the video are available for about 25% less, but they are offering a FREE google nest hub in the charcoal color (regular price $89) (here’s an ad for it from Lowes) https://www.lowes.com/pd/Google-Nest-Hub-Charcoal/1000623685 . We have one in the kitchen and not only is is a digital photo album that keeps showing us pics of our granddaughter, we use it for recipes, as a timer, etc. Ya can’t beat free!
@jym626 Are you sure it is a free hub you get with the deal you saw? I got an offer similar to the one you mention that says a free mini, which is the one without the screen. If you can link to the offer with a hub, I’d like to take advantage of that offer!
I’ll send you a PM. After I did the update for my nest subscription yesterday I got an email to day telling me I was eligible for the free nest hub. I was skeptical but went ahead and went through the “purchase” process and sure enough, at the checkout it discounted it $89.99 , no shipping or handling charge, and since the item was “free”, no tax. Total charge; $0.00.
I still use my Corningware bakeware regularly. I gave up Corelle dishes many many years ago.
@HImom, I did take our dishes with us when we purchased a new dishwasher. We wound up with KitchenAid instead of Bosch bc the slots were smaller in the Bosch so it didn’t work so well for us.

I still have Corningware baking dishes in the cornflower blue And white pattern. I most be in the minority but I’ve never liked Corelle.
I had an older fridge when we moved into this house and it had a “microwave drawer” that had a set of Corning Ware grab-it bowls sitting in little indentations in the drawer. Quite charming! We took the drawer out to save space, but kept it, and of course we kept all the little grab-it bowls. They are now considered collectible as are all the old Corning Ware cookware.
