Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

My area groupon is $10 worth of all natural, unique soaps for $5. It’s an on-line only deal!

Here’s the companies website with a blurb about the groupon [Welcome to Summer Kitchen Soaps](http://www.summerkitchensoaps.com/index.php)

went back and tried the 20BURT again.it worked! thanks!!

Glad to hear it worked for you Cathymee! Those Grab Bags are a lot of fun, but even better with a discount!

@TJMaxx today-----I bought a boxed set of Nautica Men’s pajamas—flannel drawstring bottoms with thermal type long sleeve crew top for $19.99. The same exact set is selling for $50.00 at Macy’s.

Lots of Lands End deal emails have been coming (I think the more I buy the more they send). Today’s offer is 40% off one item over $75, with free shipping.

I recently discovered that can can do LANDS END RETURNS TO SEARS STORE, even though my store does not stock Lands End items. I may take a gamble and order some snow sneakers or a parka for my son since there’d be no penalty of return shipping if it does not work out.

Starbucks has a buy one pound get one free deal on their Holiday Blend coffee - my favorite. You get a free coffee with it too, but I’m not wild about how they make their coffee. I’d rather go home and made my own.

A pair of Kohls men’s black dress pants, in my size and length for $5.50 on the clearance rack plus 15% off coupon. I didn’t really need them, but $4.70 is cheaper than getting a pair of black dress pants dry cleaned! It’s not like black dress pants are going out of style anytime soon.

Then, found a lightweight [Columbia Sportswear tan/khaki color cotton blend “members only” style casual zipper jacket](<a href=“Altrec is Moving”>Altrec is Moving) on the clearance/return rack at TJ Maxx for $24. Fairly heavy nice soft material, but no fleece or insulation. Perfect for fall/spring/summer evenings, say temperatures in the 50s or 60s. It’s not like a tan jacket is going out of style anytime soon!

I’ve been making my own “East/West Blend”. Half Starbucks house blend beans. Half Dunkin Donuts beans. Mix well and grind. The mellower DD beans cut the over-roasted strength of the Starbucks beans nicely.

Dunkin Donuts has a special on their coffee too…but honestly I don’t remember the price.

It’s very easy to return Lands End to Sears, even if they don’t have Lands End stuff. I did that several times until I figured out my sizes.

Dunkin Donuts has 4 lbs for $19.99. I usually buy DD coffee but there are certain blends of Starbuck’s coffee that I really like - the Thanksgiving Blend, the Christmas Blend and the Anniversary Blend.

I never thought about mixing them - I’ll try that.

That’s a heck of a deal. $5 a pound for really good coffee beans.

A 50/50 blend seems to work well. I suspect that a blend of Dunkin Donuts regular and their dark roast would also be pretty good.

TJ Maxx had Starbucks on sale: 2 pound bags of whole beans for $16, so I’ve got quite a bit of it in the cupboard.

For all you bakers out there:

The KitchenAid stand mixer pro model which is usually 500.00 is half price on Amazon! Some colors are more expensive, but the black and white are the lowest price. That’s something I’ve wanted for a long time, but just couldn’t justify the price. I only wanted the large size with metal parts. It even qualified for free shipping-good thing cause it weighs a lot! So, a beautiful black mixer will be my birthday/Chanukah/Christmas gift this year and will arrive in a week!

Dec. 4 and 5, Borders has a “make any purchase, get a $15 gift card to give to a school” thru the DonorsChoose.org program. Purchase can be anything; book, DVD, coffee…

Wow, I wish I could use the KitchenAid mixer…it is Beautiful!
I just don’t cook/bake enough to justify it but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate what a gorgeous machine it is.
And what a deal!

Just found out that the BOGO free pound of coffee at Starbucks was yesterday only as part of their 12 Days of Sharing Promotion. Every day from Dec. 1 through the 12, they will have one special. They will text what it is to you if you text 12DAYS to 29943 to join. Today is a BOGO free 12 pack of their VIA instant coffee.

Thanks–H enjoys the Via–will get it for his stocking. He can have flavors other than what Costco offers (which is where I generally get his stash of Via).

I used my first Groupon! I was able to send a nice treat to my son and his friends as they study for finals without breaking the bank! He is appreciative, so I am thrilled! Using the Groupon went very smoothly, and I was still able to use a discount code (additional 10% off), IN ADDITION to the Groupon deal!

I’m off this afternoon to Nordstrom Rack to use my Groupon on a new pair dressy jeans for the holidays!

This isn’t a big sale item or anything (free shipping and a $10 gift card), but if you ladies are stumped for something your guy will actually wear, this is it.

I have my heavy duty winter parka which would keep me warm on Everest. It’s great for a big snow storm or when it’s wicked cold (teens) or when you are going to be outside for hours like skiing. But, it’s way too much jacket when the amount of time outside is the time it takes to get back and forth from the car. Too bulky to wear in a store. Just too much for a lot of occasions, even when it’s pretty cold out, especially if you are already wearing a turtleneck and a sweater or light fleece indoors as we do here in New England in the winter. But, it’s too darn cold to go out without a jacket, even if the car does warm up quick!

One alternative are the heavy fleece zip-up jackets. They are warm, but I’m not wild about the look and they aren’t wind proof or even the slightest bit water resistant. Wool navy pea coats are an alternative, but again – bulky and not even the slightest bit moisture resistant. It doesn’t take much moisture to make a wool pea coat weigh 100 pounds and smell like a wet dog.

I just got the ideal solution, $60 from LL Bean:

[Warm-Up Jacket: Casual Jackets at L.L.Bean](<a href=“Men's Warm-Up Jacket, Fleece-Lined | Casual Jackets at L.L.Bean”>Men's Warm-Up Jacket, Fleece-Lined | Casual Jackets at L.L.Bean)

It’s a water resistant nylon shell. I wouldn’t wear it in a monsoon, but it’s wind and water repellent enough for a little rain or snow. Everything but the sleeves is lined with a heavy gray polyester fleece, so it’s warm enough, even before the car heater warms up. The sleeves are insulated with “Thinsulate”, like a very thin layer of synthestic down. Not bulky, but warm enough. Elastic ribbed cuffs at the hem and sleeves. Two outside zipper pocket and one inside zipper breast pocket, perfect for a phone or iPod. Available in a choice of colors. No bulky hood, but enough of a collar to provide a little protection and, most of the time, I’d rather not have the hood if I’m wearing a winter beanie. No gaudy ski jacket color schemes. Not bulky.

I can already tell that this will be my grab it and go jacket 95% of the time from November through March, here in New England. In sunbelt climates, it might be all the winter jacket you need. Sorry for the ad, but this is a piece of clothing that I suspect a lot of your guys would end up wearing for years and not the sort of thing that is easy to find in stores these days, as you can see [url=<a href=“http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/mens/brandsformen/chaps/outerwear.jsp?ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>Ne=&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>No=0&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>Ns=p_Product_Total_Inventory|1&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>Ntt=&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>recs=24&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>N=4294961693&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>type=2&PRODUCT<>prd_id=845524892664256&FOLDER<>folder_id=2534374752659100&bmForm=guided_nav_search&bmFormID=1291398052396&bmUID=1291398052396]here[/url”>http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/mens/brandsformen/chaps/outerwear.jsp?ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>Ne=&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>No=0&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>Ns=p_Product_Total_Inventory|1&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>Ntt=&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>recs=24&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>N=4294961693&ENDECA_SEARCH_INPUT<>type=2&PRODUCT<>prd_id=845524892664256&FOLDER<>folder_id=2534374752659100&bmForm=guided_nav_search&bmFormID=1291398052396&bmUID=1291398052396]here[/url].

I bought my usual size and it’s trim over a turtleneck and light fleece pullover. If you are borderline on size or like a big loose jacket, consider the next size up. A LARGE is supposed to fit men with a 42 - 44 suit coat chest size. I’m a 42 and the jacket fits me perfectly. I’d say it would be the right size for a 40 - 42 chest. I’d say go with the tall version at 6 feet or above or if you want a jacket that goes below the waist (extra 1" of sleeve length and 2" of overall length)
