Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 2)

Ok, I joined the rewards program last night and will see what happens with the offers.

I got the Kohls card when some of the coupons started saying they were only good when you pay with your Kohls card. I already had the rewards thing set up.

Kohls showed 15% when I started, now the website offers 40%, should I expect more killer deals after Christmas happens?

I had an email this morning headlined:

EVERYONE gets 40% off
 merry gifting to all! :gift:

So looks like a special one time offer available to all. My account tells me it’s good through the 19th. I wouldn’t bet on deals like this being offered to the general public except rarely.

Hmm - what else can I use?

A set of new wine glasses?

Perhaps not that; pretty well stocked

In the end I was very practical and ordered dining room chair cushions - a 2 pack. If I put one on my dining room chair and one on my computer chair, I’ll probably cover 90% of the time I spend out of bed :grinning:. (I watch most of my streaming shows on my computer.)

Got them for $35.

I learned about Penzey’s Spices on this thread and just wanted to report that they have a special on right now: spend $10 and get a free $44 value Soul Gift Box (just enter SOUL in the Apply Code box). Bonus: they lowered the threshold for free shipping to $20. Just ordered mine - will be my first time trying Penzey’s spices and I am looking forward to it!

Oh I love Penzey’s. I used their spices for a while, then started buying at the grocery store. But I went back to Penzey’s and I like their so much better!!

I’ve read about them here before, and have been tempted to order. Just went ahead and ordered - a bunch of sample size things.

Penzey’s is great. There used to be a retail store by the market downtown, so I would swing by periodically when I worked in that area.

Thanks for the Penzey’s info. I was out and apparently no longer on their email.

I took myself off the Penzey email as they were just getting too political for me.

My daughter just bought a house near one of their retain stores so may go back to shopping and picking up there.

As long as a thread or a post doesn’t go too off topic, I don’t mind if a user no longer supports a business due its policies on various issues. The user adds that they will consider going into the retail store.

Let’s not take the post totally off track with others then posting for or against said business. Posts deleted.

I’m bought Penzey’s spices for me plus an order for my niece, in her new house. They have a few times/year when they don’t charge postage for orders to HI and I happened to catch it just right. I will get a “soul” box at no charge for ordering >$19.99 plus free shipping. Also bought a box of spices on sale for $12.95 with several appealing spices, plus a few I just want to add to refresh our supply.

Bought a Costco Soreno ham from Spain marked down from $100 to $60! It’s >18 pounds and we have carved 1/2 of our current Soreno ham.

I was eyeing a pair of boots on sale at Nordstrom, but they sold out, and my order was canceled. Looked at Neiman - my luck. The boots were 25% cheaper, and Neiman offered free overnight shipping (must be a sign of desperation to lure in last minute shoppers)! Yay! I tossed a couple of bras into my shopping bag, and the FedEx reindeers will be flying my purchase to me tonight. Hope the FedEx sleigh driver will be able to find our front door without getting lost.

BTW - the NM free overnight shipping is still offered until noon central time 12/23!

Hey Kohl’s people, got my order, 40% off did seem to be a great deal. Tell me, is this normal:

I decided to check my receipts against post Christmas prices in case anything went on super deal. The special was 40% off everything, one kids T shirt & I paid full price, another set of items, I had put in my cart at $7.19 each and they went up to $12 overnight, so I removed them and put in a same category. but different item (kid pants) at $7.19, saw them go in at $7.19 and completed the purchase the same day, in reviewing my receipt they were $11.99.

It felt sneaky. Is that normal? I ordered 20-30 items delivered to a couple of addresses & didn’t want to recheck everything, I did check each item as it went into the cart, there are a couple of items that I know i would not have bought at the final price I was charged, but did not recall what they were priced before. Of course the Kohl’s chat adjusted the prices, but I was person 328 starting out so it was a bit of a hassle. There was 40% off a $10 item and they told me $7 was the correct price, I had to point out despite the computer thinking it was right, the math was wrong. It’s not the $1, it’s the “what else is wrong if your computer cannot do simple math” question. But dang, we got some great stuff for the grands at solidly good prices.

@somemom, I hate the way Kohl’s sets up its pricing and discounts. Say there is a 40% of sale, it will show the original price, then “your” price after the discount when you place it in the shopping cart. But then, IIRC, once you go to place order, it lists each item on the receipt at its regular price, then a bulk amount discount after the subtotal, so it’s difficult to see what price per item that you actually paid. I found the same problem on the itemized email receipt - it does not show the price I paid per item.

I need to return a couple of things. I will have no way to verify if they actually credit me the correct amount or not.

My other beef with Kohls is that in order to get free shipping, I had to spend a minimum amount. I threw in a couple of small items like kitchen hand towels that I could use rather than pay for shipping. I probably had about 12 items total in that one order, yet they shipped EIGHT different packages, with individual tracking numbers per package. I find that incredibly wasteful and most likely will not order from Kohls like that in the future. I would rather have done “in store” pickup but several items were not available for store pickup and in order to get free shipping I needed to have everything shipped. Aside from having to keep track of all the individual packages to make sure I received everything, I bothered me all the packaging materials I then needed to recycle and the numerous trips UPS, etc then had to make to my house.

Oh, right, so many packages and things like coming the 23rd, but arriving the 21st. With as many package thefts as I see these days, I send my grandkid’s stuff to my sister’s as she would be home, but she was not home the 21st so had to get a neighbor to grab the 3 different boxes delivered the same day, before the delivery could be stolen.

And now i am embarassed, as @4kids4us is correct, the 40% off was applied at the bottom. I think I inadvertently just got a killer deal on some of the items, but why did the chat guy not explain this. I told the chat it was my first order. :grimacing:

We are not in the market for a new doggie coat as both my dog and grand pup got new ones to add to their collection for Christmas BUT a friend got these for her dogs and said they are nice and the price is great. Maybe you can even find some additional codes:

She mentioned only paying like $11/per coat when she got hers - size may influence price but her dogs are good sized. :woman_shrugging:t2:
