Hi. I recently read a thread that asked the students who were accepted into Cal Poly SLO for his/her HS gpa, SAT scores, ACT scores, AP classes, and ECs. I thought this thread was genius and would be extremely useful, especially since i plan on applying this coming october for Early Decision. However, the date of the thread was in 2005 and most of the answers are from that time. So i decided to post a thread asking the same questions for the newer students who were accepted because i understand that CP SLOs standards have rised. So the questions were basically

1) what year did you apply and what major did you apply to?
2) what were your HS gpa, SAT scores, ACT scores, AP classes, and ECs?
3) what do your recommend for a future applicant? Any advice??

^^It was fun going back to that thread starting in 11/09. I had listed my daughter’s stats and later in the thread was concerned about her lack of a lot of job experience. It also wasn’t related to her major. Well, that was *then *and this is now. She’s been in for awhile. Good luck to those of you just starting the application process. I can’t tell you how relieved I am that it’s over. ;)

@mandilove - thanks :] and i guess 2005 wasnt the last post like this XD

@2leashes thanks and congrats to your daughter like 2 years ago haha

haha of course. no problem.

It is an exciting and nerve wracking experience! I hope you find the info you are looking for to help you see where you stand at getting accepted at CPSLO. The thing that is so difficult is that each major will be different about accepting students because of how many applicants there are and the stats of the applicants. Some majors are easier than others to get in. None are easy though and you really need to apply for the major you are interested in. This way you have some idea if you can be successful in that major.

Hopefully you have done well in classes and tests. These count the most at CPSLO.
Good luck to you!
