Many students are saying that the April 1 SAT CR was more difficult than the reading sections in the Blue Book. In fact, many students that I know showed a point decline of 60 points from their average in the Blue Book.

Are the reading passages getting more difficult? Given that the test is standardized it shouldn't matter, but this is a separate point.

Please offer your opinion if you took the April 1 SAT or May SAT. How would you rate the rigor of the reading passages? Did your CR score increase or decrease from the BB?

The April SAT CR was okay. The only passage that was not really "covered" in the blue book was the passage about the African girl and her mom and getting married. The only reason it was hard was because there were some african words in it and the questions asked you to use inference skills..

I took the May SAT and feel the passages were fair. The cheetah passage was on the tough side, but I sure have seen harder passages in the blue book.

the cheetah passage was pretty hard, but I thought the jefferson passage was a lot worse.

the blue book offers a range instead of a number. i'm sure the CB does this so that their book is accurate with the actual scores. On the april SAT CR i got 650 and I was averaging a range of 640-730 on the blue book. so to answer your question, yes the april SAT was harder then the blue book.
