@jalopsy3@savoir12 you are supposed to receive a confirmation email saying your app is complete. I had to submit twice. the first time, it didn’t work. second time, it did. I emailed YSPA and they mentioned that you should receive an email. If you didn’t receive one, try checking spam.
Regardless, it’s too late now. If you remember submitting it maybe email them. Sounds like perhaps a glitch
I got a confirmation for both my teacher’s recommendation now. When you mean a confirmation saying the application is complete, was it the first time you submitted the online application? There isn’t supposed to be any e-mail sent after the teachers send both recommendatiosn right?
@jalopsy3@savoir12 I received a confirmation within about 5 minutes of submitting my application form.
Of course, this does not necessarily have to be true for everyone so you should email them and ask.
@savoir12 There is no email saying your entire application is complete. Since the application only consists of the student form and the recs, it is understood that it’s complete if you’ve received confirmations for both.
Thanks again @OnAHyperbola my application should be complete then. I will email them to make sure. @jalopsy3 I included my extracurriculars in the short answer question responses.
YSPA and SSP do collaborate on some measurements. For instance, last year, SSP and YSPA measured the distance to an asteroid by taking simultaneous measurements of its angular position (right ascension and declination) and using parallax.
I just looked at the thread for last year and some people got their emails on 3/30. That’s tomorrow (Thursday). Geez that’s soon! :-SS They might email results on a Wednesday again, so that would be today!
Not to stress you too much, but my son heard from YSPA on March 29 last year. It seemed to be rolling admissions a bit, since they were pressing him for an answer.
If the website says mid-April, then I’m pretty sure it will be so- they probably have way more applications to review this year.
Also, do they have a separate quota for international students? Or is everyone grouped into the same pile?
