When senior grades are requested by U-M, the checklist for 7th semester grades gets added to Wolverine Access and the status is set as “requested”. At that point, your application has essentially been set aside and is waiting for that additional information before it gets reviewed again. Upon receipt of an updated transcript, the setting gets changed to “received” and your application is assigned back to the admissions counselor for review.

The admissions office still has to put in a final evaluation for all of the students that had 7th semester grades requested, but never submitted them. That process has started this week. They mark the 7th semester grades in Wolverine Access as “waived” so that the application can be reassigned to the admissions counselor to continue with their evaluation.

Just because it reads “waived” doesn’t mean admissions no longer wants to see them. It just means they’re proceeding without them. If the person initial reviewing the applicaiton had enough concern to request senior grades, it would suggest that they weren’t comfortable putting in a high evaluation based on what was in the application. Now they have to put in a final evaluation and they have nothing new to alleviate those concerns.

Updated transcripts can still be submitted after the status has been set to “waived”. The status will then switch over to “received” still. That doesn’t mean that the reviewing counselor will necessary see it though. If they already finished their evaluation without it, that updated transcript won’t be factored into the evaluation. I suggest emailing your territory counselor when your new transcript has been successfully updated to “received” to let them know.
