I have a 3.9 gpa and an act of 35. What are my chances of getting into a 0-6 pharmacy program? I am an international student. Another question: how would financial aid work? Keep In mind that I am an international student
Can I get some kind of answer?
The 3.9 and 35 ACT are excellent as you know. But as an international don’t count on financial aid from U.S. sources. What about loans in your own country?
You can also try asking your question on the Student Doctor Network website in the pre-pharmacy forum.
Thank you so much for your answer. Also, how much money does a 0 6 pharmacy program cost in total?
0-6 Pharmacy school Programs
Pharmacy schools that accept the majority of students directly from high school are referred to as 0-6 programs because students enrolled can complete their pre-pharmacy and professional study within 6-years after high school. Students enrolled in a 0-6 program who successfully complete the first 2-years of pre-professional study (and any other stated contingencies) are guaranteed admission into the 4-year professional pharmacy degree program.

I just wanted an average cost, but thanks anyway
Read this website in detail to learn about all the schools: http://www.aacp.org/resources/student/pharmacyforyou/admissions/pages/default.aspx
It really depends on the school. Average tuition is 33K. Room and board is like another 15K. But don’t go off of those costs. For example, University of the Sciences (another 0-6) has a fourth year tuition of like 50K+ not counting room and board.
So basically I will end up with 300k debt because I am an international student that can’t get federal aid?
Correct, which is why you would need to either study undergrad at a US institution where you can get merit aid (http://www.automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com) and then apply to pharmacy school after you’ve taken the PCAT and done all that, or study pharmacy in your country.
Are the first two years of the 0 6 programs priced like undergrad?
Sorta, yeah. Again, it depends on the school. You should check each school individually.
Okay, thanks. 0-6 schools appealed to me, but the high cost and lack of demand of pharmacists is now making me change my mind.
Do you have a loan co-signer in the U.S who will promise to pay off your 6 years of debt if you aren’t able to?
You mean a u.s. citizen? I have a relative that lives in Canada. But I live in the u.s.
Bump
You get zero financial aid as an international. If lucky, you might get a scholarship. Many pharmacy schools do not accept international students.
