I got accepted to both Rutgers EMSOP (honors college) and University of the Sciences. I’m not sure which program to attend. I feel like I fit the atmosphere at Usci better, but if I didn’t go to Rutgers I feel like I’d be giving up a great opportunity and a prestigious degree. There’s also a difference in cost. Rutgers is $36k a year, Usci is $27k (10K if I commute). Any advice?
I completely feel the same way. I like the smaller school aspect better, but Rutgers, from what I heard, has better opportunities. At the end of the day, it comes down to what your end goals are.
I thought RU was about 30K a year not 36k but maybe Pharma is 20% more???, can you afford the 27K and 36(?) K at both schools? Do you not get some money at RU for the honors college? One thing I know about RU is there are chances to get small scholarships after freshman year that last for a year at a time. if it comes down to you want to live on campus and can afford to I would say Rutgers has the better program. Again I do not think RU Pharma is a expensive as you think it is, according to their website 2018 -2019 was 29k
@NJdad07090 I’m out of state, and I received a $10k scholarship. My dad had a reduction in income due to corona so Rutgers is a little much
@maggiedonlevie - Ok I thought you were in state , total understand that in these uncertain time everyone has to double check the finances involved, 9 k per year is a big spread and you do not want a lot of debt.
@NJdad07090 I just got an email yesterday saying I got more merit aid but my portal hasn’t updated yet
@maggiedonlevie , that is great to hear, RU takes a few days on a good year to have their aid show up, give it 3 days or so and hopefully it will be there and hopefully it will make a differences, let me know .
