Duke
Georgia Tech
University of Michigan
Purdue University

Please give me your thoughts and I'll chance you back!

Wow, really high GPA and a high ACT. Your ECs on the other hand are just average, to be honest.

Stanford- high reach, just like everyone else…
MIT- high reach
Cornell- low reach
Caltech- high reach (this one is REALLY hard to get into)
Northwestern- match/low reach
Johns Hopkins- match
Duke- low reach
Georgia Tech- match
University of Michigan- match
Purdue University- match

Thanks for the input! I just chanced you back, good luck!

Don’t worry too much about the fact that I say you reach for MIT, Cal Tech or Stanford, I would say that for just about anyone. The only reason I wouldn’t categorize you any higher for those is because of your ECs. It would be a lot better if you could have had some engineering related ECs already but you really just have one. The ultra competitive nature of those schools requires that you not only have amazing test scores and GPA but also amazing ECs. Those, for elite students, are merely average. Also I think you need to look into this but I’m pretty sure that NU requires you have 3 SAT II scores submitted to them, and I’m assuming that some of the others also have this requirement. Make sure you have everything you need before applying. Good luck!

Stanford - reach
MIT - reach
Cornell - high match
Caltech - reach
Johns Hopkins - high match
Purdue University - match

Everything is great; the only thing you’re short on is something focused EC-wise. Perhaps you can tie them all together in an essay.

Chance me back?
