10 B's and 1 C. No more Wharton for me??

OH this is BAD

unweighted GPA 3.5-3.6 now, maybe (including orchestra/gym)

is that toooo low for wharton?? (10 Bs and 1 C)..

class rank is 6/320, still.
..maybe 7/320. hopefully not.

do u think a student with that many Bs can still have a shot??

wow it seems like your school has major grade inflation (or is it deflation). Your rank (Top 1%) is excellent though, colleges should know this or it's not fair...

deflation

top 2 percent tho

but still, 10 Bs and 1 C<< that is ridicoulous

GPA of 3.5 and you're still 6? I've got a 3.9 and I'm 85! Can I transfer to your school?

yea, I have a 3.85 (weighted) 3.4 (UW) and i'm barely top 40%.

what will they loook at?

rank OR GPA

Even regardless of the C and class rank. 10 B's? bye bye wharton.

icyfire ^^

is that really "auto-reject?"
that really sucksss

dude u whine a lot

St. Louis metro schools tend to have a lot of grade deflation, including publics.

ok.
here's my plan
(sry if i whine too much)

I know i have basically Zip chance at Wharton RIGHT NOW.
But i am Gonna get my Ass there, Sooner or later.

i dont care about "college". i just want Wharton. It's been in my family for years.

ok, so this is what i'm gonna do..
I'm gonna apply to Wharton and if they reject me whatever. I'm not applying to anywhere else. I'm going to get All A's in Senioer year. I KNOW I WILL. because Junior year i packed myself with hard-ass AP classes. Senior year is a BREEZE (AP stat, AP art history, etc..easy classes). ok, so. after (and during) my senior year, i will take Community college courses and summer school courses at those places.
AND continue my SAT IIs and ACTs. I should reach 34 if i study hard enough. and i may get some high 700s and 800s on SAT IIs. Then, i apply again NEXT november ED. But, i'm not going to apply ANYWHERE else. Because if i do, my parents will make me go to those places.( they dont want me to waste a year.)

but i tell them, i WILL MAKE IT to wharton
NO MATTER WHAT
sooner or later. i will kick my ass in there
i will even tell wharton that. i will tell them that i will ONLY go to ur school, nothing else, and i will keep applying until you accept me

however long it requires.
it was my parents' goal to get me there. and i will not let them down

so anyways
is this a good idea?
(oh, btw, i dont really care about any other college business degree/education. I just want to fullfill my dream).

Chanman, I have a great idea, that could help a ton. I/M me later. This could help the both of us a ton.

hey i understand about ur dream and such. i was obsessed also with uva this year and as a result, i spend every day just being on this site. when i was rejected, i felt like ****. but afterwards like a month or so, i realized i probably wasnt meant for uva. i will probably try to transfer next year, but i dont think i will go there if i get in. i just want to prove my parents and me that i am worthy of uva. anyways, i dont know why i wrote this crap. the point is, that next year, it will be your senior year and i have noticed how much u stress about wharton and its probably not good for you. just enjoy ur senior year, and you will probably like it wherever u get in.

what was I saying up there, my grammar's terrible and I miscalculated the percentage there hehe. sorry for that.

academic wise, that plan sounds awesome. but I'd rather (or in addition) accomplish an superimpressive feat in extracurriculars to appeal to the adcoms in a "healthier" way. I don't know your ecs, but you can do something grand pertaining to your major (business related I guess), and express your passion for your major that you intend to presume at Wharton. you have a whole summer remaining to plan a thing out so good luck on whatever you intend to do :).

well... doesn't this depend on the situation... 10b's maybe isn't horrible if you take 9/10 classes a year... so u figure out to about 25-30 total classes... if ur getting 15-20 a's 10 b's and 1 c... AND ur rank is fairly high i don't see why it's completely out of the question... each year they'll see:

A/A/A/A/A/A/B/B/B it's mostly a's with a spattering of b's...

Look man, apply to Wharton. If you get rejected go to another college this time. Then do good at that college, retake SAT and ACT, do volunteering, do everything then try to transfer. If that fails, then finish your BA at that college then try and enter Wharton as a graduate.

But look, if you are this obsessed with Wharton, what happens if you never get in. Does that mean youll just drink your life away. You actually want to waste a year while you retake sats and stuff. Be serious man BIG NAME SCHOOLS ARE NOT EVERYTHING. 10 b's and 1 c is no good at all. You will have to bust your ass and get high high sat and act, a lot of EC, i mean a lot of EC, then get a great rec, then do an outstanding essay, then have your guidance counslor explain about the deflation at your school. This is going to be hard, but look for alternatives like your state U or something else. Dont waste your life being addicted to BIG NAME SCHOOLS.

do u think they will consider me "easier" the 2nd time i apply to whaton??

IF i get VERY good ACTs/SATs. 800s, 34 ACT.

Will they Think?: " Oh, this kid Skipped a freaking year because he wanted to come to OUR school. He loves this school. His stats aren't that bad. and his ECs are good. Let's give him this chance."

how about...your crazy....haha just write your essay like 50 pages long about how you love wharton!

i will. but not 50 pages long.

more like, 5

is this really a crazy idea??
has it EVER been done before?
has anyone ever wasted a year JUST TO GO TO THAT ONE SCHOOL?
(if they dont accept me the 2nd time, it doesnt matter. I'll wait another year. Plus, no body needs college anyways. No one in my family line has ever gone to college, and everyone's doing pretty well)

then y is wharton such a big deal to you? I thought you said wharton was a tradition.
