1730-2000 jump

Ive taken 9 practice tests and have read direct hits volume one....

I finished the blue book 10 practice tests and....I just.... have not improved.....

I time myself, and I look over the answers and i still make the same stupid mistakes.... It irks me to see that my peers who have not done a single practice test in their life walk into the sat and pull out a shining 2000 right out of oblivion... again very irritating...

SO what should I do my last week before the SAT on Dec. 4...what to do?....

270 point jump... I will even accept the "oh so dreaded" 1900 any day....

BUT, I will not accept a 1800... I just cant.... I need this score...some thoughts.. ideas...

standardized testing....good stuff...

bump bump… 4.0

I say, relax.
I did a 1730 to 2030 SAT jump (though it was a psat-sat)

Do you understand why you are making mistakes, when taking tests?
Just taking practice tests for the sake of taking practice tests is not going to be beneficial but if you can learn from your mistakes then you should improve. The test is on Saturday though, so you will not be able to do any magic. Don’t burn yourself out, relax and good luck :)

It’s been done before; plenty of times. Just always have that thought in your head; if it’s been done, it’s possible. As obvious as that sounds, it might help. Your fellow peers are most likely very avid test takers. A couple of my friends who are incredibly lazy have dominated the SAT with minimal studying.

As the poster before me said, relax. You’ve got it in you. Just look over WHY you are making these mistakes because as you’re doing this, you may catch on to some some tricks that are quite common on the SAT.

true… every time i take a new test from the BB… they ask stuff in a different way but some of the question styles they repeat, I am able to catch on…

I think i can do it… I just need to remain confident and get overcome my Achilles heal of anxiety…

bump bump bump…

You have to study what you got wrong, not just take the tests.

I improved from a 175 PSAT sophomore year to a 2360 SAT. Your goal is definitely doable.

How I jumped:

So, I took the October SAT and I got a 1430 with 8/12 essay. The second day after the test, I started memorizing new words. Because I am an international student, 400 words in Direct Hits turned in 650 for me. Anyway, I have memorized about 1000 words in 4 weeks. Well, then I took a practice test and scored a 1790. Afterwards, I enhanced my grammar and math skills. Finally, I took a practice test and the score was 1860. Then, it was a 1970. Now my scores are 1850-1950 with test conditions.

P.S
Nostalgic remark:
I have started my SAT preparation in June 14; and in June 22, I took my first practice test in the Online Course, the result was a 1060

First practice test June 22, 2010-- A 1060

Last practice test November 29, 2010-- A 1950

That’s a remarkable improvement. You’re going to go far if you keep it up.
