Hello,

I'm 90% sure I'll be attending the U next year, but I don't know where I want to live! I'm in Honors but I don't want to live in Middlebrook. I'll be in CBS so I'm looking towards East Bank for sure. I know that there's a new hall being built on 17th, and a friend told me that I should put that as my number one because it will be new and the dining hall is completely new, but I know that it's right by all the Greek houses and that the Greek LLC is in the hall. I don't want to go Greek so should this be a deciding factor for me?

Otherwise, should I go superblock or like Comstock or Sanford? Although I do want AC so maybe Sanford is out of the running.

Also, what's the point of an LLC other than Honors? Is it too late to apply?

I already applied for housing in January but I can still change my preferences so that's why I'm asking!

Thank you!

DD is in CBS honors and had to make this same decision 2 years ago (obviously without the new 17th Ave Hall option). She also was not interested in Middlebrook, and opted for the Biology House LLC which is in the “suites” wing of Frontier Hall. It was a good fit for her, and she seemed to like having other CBS students as neighbors … everyone was taking similar classes, and tended to have a similar mindset.

As an Alum from way back, the new 17th Ave hall seems to be a nice option to me … the location is better than Superblock, and “new” always seems attractive. The dining hall should be nice, but from what I experienced and from what DD tells me, all the dining halls serve pretty much the same food. The Pillar LLC will be a small subset of the overall building, so I don’t think it will set the tone for the entire place.

Here is an interesting link that shows how construction of the new hall is progressing.
