1940s to 2100s?

So I took the Dec. SAT and got a score of 1940.
CR: 620 M: 650 W: 670 (10 essay)

I don't know why my math is so low b/c in school ive gotten A/A+'s in every math class including AP Calc this year, and I'm pretty sure I got a 4 on the AP test.

Last summer from July to Oct. I prepped from a 1560 and raised it to 1940, and I was wondering if it is possible to increase even more b/c I thought you could only increase so much until theres a certain cap.

I really want to get a 2100 to be able to apply to bigger schools, so any tips are greatly appreciated.

I am in the same boat as you, only with a little difference in numbers. I started with a 1400, prepared from last year’s July to Oct., and got a 1900 in Dec… I have prepared a little bit since then and took both the May and the June trials. The scores of both trials will come out on the 20th of this month. If I break the 2000 barrier, I’m surely gonna tell you how I did it and confirm that it is possible! Hope this reply was by any means helpful.

School grades may be inflated. That why admission offices need to look at the school profiles not just your GPA. Perhaps you are nervous at test too. If you are looking for 160 point increase at retake, it is very feasible. Just do more practice test over the summer and go through the answers and explanations for the ones you missed.

you should just take a bunch of practice tests. And definitelly work on the math and writing sections. The material in those sections you can actually learn, as opposed to the critical reading sections, by reviewing concepts, and grammar. Then just practice all your skills over and over and over again in practice tests and your scores should definitely go up. As for critical reading, you have to just get accustomed to the different types of questions, and learn vocabulary. I went from a 1980 to a 2240 just by practicing everything, so it’s definitely possible to accomplish your goal.

There’s not really a cap other than a perfect score. It’s hard to pass the 2,000 mark. I would try to eye down the writing section since it seems the easiest to improve. You can try the sat grammar bootcamp on youtube by the user waystoimprove. It should get you to close to an 800.

By then you should be about close to a 2100. For math, you’ll have to study all the problems you suck at. Take your practice test and then thoroughly review it and make sure you understand every single problem. If you don’t, circle it and post it on here to get an explanation. Anyone is willing to help on these boards.

For Critical Reading, reading more hard reads would be good. It’ll improve your skills at looking at huge chunks of text and picking out details.

Overall, you need minor improvements in math and critical reading as well as a major improvement in writing to reach your goal of a 2100 or more.
