1st Sem Dip in Grades

My first sem grades for senior year took a dip, but my overall GPA didn't decrease much. I did receive a C in an AP class though. However, it was a science course, which isn't really related to my intended major/second major (film, journalism) at Emerson.

Will this hurt me? Should I send a letter explaining a reason for the semester? Or is it too late??

i dont think it will hurt you at all! its only a science class plus its AP so i dont think you should really worry about that.

ay, thanks for the reply, I really hope it won't hurt. Anyone else kinda had a similar situation?

I'm glad I'm not alone! Some extraneous circumstances made me get a D in an AP class....even thoigh first quarter I had an A and I got an A+ on the final... my final grade turned out to be a B but I'm still nervous this will hurt my chances.

Whats the concensus on wheather or not we should write letters? I feel like because the grade is an anomaly it might be a good idea?

thoughts?

Whoa, you are alone. We got C's, not a B! Jebus, my best grade last semester was a B+.

I'm really starting to worry. Emerson is tied as my first choice up there with USC...should I call the admissions office for advice?

just wondering how everything turned out for you?

hey thanks for asking, I was accepted into Film Production!

I have been rejected from 3 schools so far, but even though I'm sure my 1st semester grades did affect my admission, those were all reaches for me anyways, and I really really want to live in Boston.

I'm still waiting on a few other schools, but I am leaning very heavily towards Emerson.
