Hi,
It is my first semester at community college and I will be dropping my stats class because I did the math and doubt that I can get a B in the class. Now my psychology teacher updated our grades (I’m a psych major btw) and I did the math- it is impossible for me to get a B in the class.
Would it be horrible to get a C in the class? Should I drop it instead? Is it really bad to have two dropped classes your first semester (I’m thinking about transferring to UCLA or Pepperdine).
Before you start thinking about where you will transfer, you need to figure out how to succeed in college. Getting a “C” in the first semester is not the end of the world but your next semester will need to show improvement.
If you are primarily applying to UCs, they do not at all care about Ws. Private schools do, apparently (even UCLA or UCB do not care at all) - but one or two Ws won’t kill you, so long as you work hard
I would drop them, and try to improve next semester. You may have to take an additional semester/year/summer classes in order to catch up.
UCLA Psychology is very competitive - 3.8+ sort of deal. You should strive for A’s, primarily.
