2.8 GPA 1720 SAT 2 APs-Which Florida University??

So here's the breakdown: I'm a high school junior I have a 2.3 GPA right now because I had some major home issues last year, etc. I am expecting that if I do well enough in my AP English and AP Chemistry classes next year, I will have bumped by GPA to at least a 2.8 or so. I am very smart and my teachers know it, and my grades don't reflect my abilities AT ALL. I took the SAT and got :

630 Reading
440 Math
650 Writing

I am planning to retake the SAT and improve my score by at least 50-100 points. I want to go to universities in Florida such as UCF, USF, etc. I have a stellar essay talking about my personal character, etc, and my home struggles, depression and anxiety.

What do you think my chances are??

idk about every school in fl, but u definitely wont get into um or ucf…sorry, but that’s the truth

I’m sort of in the same boat as you w/ grades & good sats and kind of lost. I know that grades feel like they outweigh all the positive attributes you have as a candidate for a school.

All I know is that colleges look for diversity. There are thousands of students with 4.0 gpa’s and amazing extra credits, and although a 2.3 gpa might not measure up to a 4.0 gpa, uniqueness will.

Honestly, that is what I am hoping for. That colleges will understand the person I am instead of grades that don’t reflect who I am by my essay/extracurriculars/recommendations

I hope you do well!
