2.84 HS GPA and 27 ACT, chances?

I’m going to be a senior in high school this year with a 2.84 uw and 2.96 w GPA (I know it’s bad). I go to a pretty tough high school and I took several AP classes. I’m retaking the ACT in September and hoping to get a 28-30. I’m thinking of applying to these colleges and was wondering if you guys think I have a chance.

Salem State University

Also, do you guys have any other suggestions for me?

@rachb500 I don’t think your GPA qualifies for the CSUs… especially if you are OOS.

State of residence - California
CSU GPA - I’m not completely sure, but I went on the website where you can calculate it and it said it should be around 3

I would work on bringing up your GPA this year. At least to a 3.0 will help. Since you have a low GPA, I would work on bringing up your ACT a couple points. With that said, I think your in at ASU.

@rachb500 Dominguez Hills would be your safety.
Fresno is a match.
SFSU seems like a reach.

  2. Senior grades aren’t counted in CSUs. However, course rigor is.

You’ll definitely get into ASU, you literally need a pulse to get in there.

SFSU: Low Reach
CSU Fresno: Match
CSU DH: Safety

You are eligible for CSU, you need a 2.0 to apply. I think you’re in at all, with the exception of SFSU, which might be a high match, low reach.
