Brown recieved 20,595 applications…Good Luck to all 2012 applicants!

What will be, will be.

But for most people, it won't.

wow......there any minute fragment of hope i had left after I was deferred :(

Aww, deferred here too! I don't know if the admissions board just says this to make the deferrees (probably just made up a word there!) feel like there is still some hope, but we do have an equal shot of getting in. So at least the % doesnt decrease since they have already reviewed our application =)

Hope you have thought about other schools during this time. I love Brown, but after the deferral, it gave me the chance to love a few other schools which I honestly think is good. Good luck to everyone!!

i am just one in 20,959 :(
i hope i did enough its out of my hands now...

yeah, i've found some other schools that I like but Brown is still my favourite (by far). I don't feel too confident about my chances right now but who knows what could happen, right?

Wow yeah.... it really is out of our hands now :S

This amounts to 6.8% rate. However, the yield at Brown is not 100%, so there are actually more than 1400 admitted students for those 1400 spots. Looks like last year Brown sent 2,683 admission letters and 1,485 of those who got one chose to enroll (approximately 55% yield).

Maybe Brown will send out more acceptances this year since less students will probably matriculate since Princeton and Harvard ended their ED programs. Does that make sense?

Ahhhhh i'm so nervous! I would do anything to go to Brown!

Fingers crossed I hope they do accept more to combat the possibly lower yield because I sure know I'll go if I get in.

Man, I hate all this waiting. And the overhanging clouds of doom.

I agree to BunsenBurner. There will be many more acceptances than 1400! Don't let those numbers discourage you.
