Oh darn. All right, thanks! I guess I haven't heard anyone from my school receive it, but a few have gotten the Cal Regent's invite.

are the regent's invitations based on exceptional sat scores/ gpa or do they sometimes invite applicants with alright scores but outstanding extracurriculars?

I would tend to believe that Regents does have a lot to do with good scores/grades (though extracurriculars are impt too). However, if you have outstanding extracurriculars but not so outstanding stats, I'd look into the Alumni Scholarship which cares more about the ec's.

Any transfer students get this? ...or is this just for incoming fresh?

Wow!!! Some of you have VERY IMPRESSIVE STATS!!! :D

I got it a while ago but lost the letter and found it on Feb 13. -.-;; sigh I'm definitely doing the Berkeley Regent's Scholarship.

i'm a current UCLA freshman regents scholar...
congrats to all you guys who got the invitation. i don't know if the deadline has passed already or not, but don't treat this essay lightly. it's not just another college essay, it could mean a minimum of $5500 a year, guys. for some people, it means more than $10,000 a year. plus you get GUARANTEED parking!!! if you know anything about UCLA, you should know that a parking permit is pure gold (although it probably costs its weight in gold too).
so take it seriously!
