2007 Early Action Results Thread

ny 10804--that was an international applicant who almost certainly got it in an e mail along with the other international applicants who posted acceptances above them...if you check out their previous posts somewhere it mentions that they are international. i thought the same thing as you before, but when i figured it out i lost all hope.

wow that sucks. that narrows it down to a string of highly unlikely coincidences.

agreed. ****.

lol I'm from Maine too and Starbucks addict got his this morning, while I hyperventilated till 4 when the mail came, and it wasn't even there.

Wow. So even though Georgetown sent all the letters on Thursday, somehow no one has gotten a deferral letter? Talk about coincidence...

it would be a pretty unfair assumption to say that ALL the applicants that applied early are on CC.

true. CC consists of those most likely to be accepted, since we are so anal about education and such.

I'm about ready to give up. No one but internationals have gotten deferred! Georgetown, you're killing me...

I just think that people are less likely to post that they are deferred than accepted...not that they sent out acceptances earlier, cause really it makes no sense becuase they prepare them at the same time

OR Gtown switched to a new system of sending out letters to only those accepted. dun dun dun.

OMG. TWO DAYS AGO GTOWN GOT THEIR PART II ONLINE.
HAHA
THEY FINALLY ALLOW ONLINE APPS!
When we were applying EA they had Part I online, and now for RD they have the Part II online.
They've finally taken the plunge!

That's stupid how they have their part II online now.
They should have had that from the beginning.

if part II is online, the RD people can probably get their decision online too and not be in limbo for 2 more days..... i haven't been that nervous. not that i was confident, just kind of going with the flow, but around noon today i got really nervous for the letter. then it didn't come.

i also think that they did not sent out acceptances earlier..... there have only been a few admission posts and like someone else said, people are a lot more likely to post if they're accepted. a lot of deferred people will not care enough to post their stats for the good of humanity

I dont think they will be able to check their app status online. The online system does not seem that advanced.

Looking back over the past threads, I think only 4 non-international people have said they were accepted today (5 if you include people who know other people who were accepted). 5 people is not enough to make any conclusion about the mailing schedule of Georgetown...at least thats my view

ok well at least i don't feel too much spite then... ahhhh i swear georgetown is the LAST place. a ton of people at school have already heard back from x, y, and z universities.

has anyone ever thought that perhaps posting their deferral is not the first thing someone will think to do? i mean, if (and when) i get deferred, i probably will be moping, eating ice cream, and throwing darts at a large poster of healy hall, and if i get accepted, i'll come here and post. so i think we're all overanalyzing/overreacting and need to chill. the decisions were made months ago for a lot of us, there's nothing we can do now. good luck to everyone out there, for the most part we're all qualified and should get in.

oh wait, reilly said the same thing. just got impatient about all this madness and jumped to the end.

iiz, I'm sure we've all thought about that, it's just (I'll use myself as an example) people above (Maine) and below (NJ) me (haha, "below me") have gotten their letters (and been accepted) and I haven't.

I think we're all being overanalytical of the situation and should just chill out for now, as the mail is obviously not coming tomorrow.
