thats about a 43% acceptance rate...10294/24040. Not as low as I thought it would be but it's still on a downward trend.

so how many incoming freshmen are attending UF?

I think UF is shooting for 6,400 actually enrolling

Anybody have any idea where to find a more detailed analysis of this year's admissions?

princetonreview helps. but the stats are still on '06. it says the acceptance rate is 48%

Why does it seem as if these stats are a little exaggerated? Also, why don't the stats match up with those given by collegeboard?

i think most universities tend to pump up their numbers on their web sites. the college board seems like they would have good numbers on applicants board scores who applied to schools. they know what scores were sent to UF for example, so i assume there acceptance numbers seem to be in concert with their internal numbers.

who knows, but i agree that the numbers don't seem to match up all the time.

here are the college board numbers for UF ( i guess using 2006 stats)

mid 50% of freshman class

SAT of 1140 - 1360
ACT of 24 - 29

here are the UF numbers from their web site

Middle 50% of the Class

High School GPA of 3.9 - 4.4
SAT of 1220 - 1390
ACT of 26 - 31

it does seem confusing how the lower end of the range can be so different, but who knows

My guess nycollegedad is your comparing 2006 numbers with 2007 numbers, and since they raised their standards this year, it would only make sense that those numbers wont be the same.

The stats posted by UF (GPA, SAT, and ACT) are all identical for both the freshman class of 2006 and the freshman class of 2007, which would seem to be highly unlikely. I could see the numbers being close, but for the lower and upper numbers of all three stats to be exactly the same for last year and this year seems highly improbable me. Even if the number of applicants were identica,l at least one of the numbers should vary. The fact that the number of applicants has significantly increased makes this scenario even more unlikely.

Links for previous years stats are at the bottom of the page of this link:
http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/ugrad/frprofile.html

i think that the stats that college board may use are based upon kids who have applied.

the stats on the uf page i think, are for accepted applicants.

who knows.
