2a was easy. it's just one formula. actually...i guess if you didn't know the formula it kinda messes you up

yeah, when i first looked at 2 i was like how in the world can i solve this, but then i remembered the formula and it was really easy from there on
i think i might have messed up on 2c (i think) though

mechanics: easy

e/m: hard, but then again i went in with just physics b stuff

E/M FR was hell, MC not bad, left 2 blank and got approximately five wrong; hoping to get a 5, but high chance of getting a 4
Mechanics was easy, but I ran out of time, so I did not finish 2, and I had to leave six blank on MC, think I got approximately three wrong, so I should get a 5.

for previous years, it seems that u can get a 5 on the e&m if u get around 50 from a raw score of 90

because so many people thought mech. was easy, will the raw for a 5 be moved up around 60? because that would thus destroy my chances at a 5...
=)

MECH MC- really easy
MECH FRQ- moderately easy

E+M MC- moderately challenging
E+M FRQ- easy

I doubt the curve will jump much, if at all. College Confidential is a skewed representation of Physics C test-takers, even if Physics C is pretty self-selective itself. Just think about all the people in your class who are doing miserably. For every student who's getting an A, you can probably find at least one who's getting a C or worse. Even if the anecdotal evidence on this thread "shows" that this year's test was easier than those in the past, we cannot conclude that everyone else felt the same way or performed at a level higher than that which they would have performed on a previous test. I'd say 55/90 is a good estimate for this year. Discuss?

55/90 for Mechanics or E/M???? I am assuming u mean Mechanics cuz EM has never been that high.

what's the cutoff for a 2 and 3? I just hope i can pass this. I know it looks easy for some of you guys but I'm terrible at Physics so a 3 is my goal right now.

Mechanics of course, sorry :)

The MC on EM was MUCH easier than I expected save one or two problems...I almost got numbers 17 and 18 wrong for Mechanics but I caught myself in time :)

Number 2 (for mechanics) was a re-hash of an old problem...and how did you (Im too lazy to check the username) mess up number 3 on E and M? It was the one problem I know I got a perfect 15 on....

The first two for E and M were not too bad, but I made a huge contradiction in number 1 part B so take 5 points off and maybe another one for not doing part d completely...I didnt give an explanation for 2b and I didnt finish solving for 2c...you think I can still salvage points on 2c for showing proper set up?

piccolojunior, I got absolutely nothing on E/M #3. We barely covered that subject in class.

Kman...you on any yankee message boards btw? You sound familiar...(as in a nets fan...)

Damn that sucks. Number 3s (dealing with magnetism) are usually the easiest by far on E and M tests. You just need to know your basic formulas and it's a 15 on a platter. Oh well, since the curve is so good you should still get a 5 on the test.

MC was okay, i left too many blank though, and the FRQ were overall not that bad. damn, i totally messed up on 1b though

ugh... I HATE standardized tests! damn i always screw up on something

omg 2c was such a PAIN...as in, it took forever to do and probably will be worth same as 2d, which took 2 seconds.

i made a really stupid mistake. on one of the questions i couldnt do part b, but i needed that answer to do part c, so i just made up a number in b. well when i plug it into c i get a ridiculous answer so i changed it a little so that my c answer to would be more reasonable. Well I forget to change it b!!! i noticed it right when time was up so i tried to change it real quick, but i had no lead out in my pencil and the proctor happened to come take my test first.

just partial credit off though right? as long as my equations are right?

After having checked what I could remember, I got about 15-21 total points: between 7 and 10 on #1 and between 8 and 11 on #2, 0 on 3.

I did really bad probably barely scraped a 1. I feel so stupid for spending a lot of time to think about FR #1 for magnetism which was the easiest
